I recently retrieved my 2002 World Series ticket from game 7. It was buried deep in some boxes my mom was storing for me and I thought I had lost it or given it to someone. Luckily it popped up after going through some old things. It's a really nice piece for Angels fans like myself and I was thinking of having it graded. Does anybody have experience with grading tickets? Is it worth the price? I think I'll just have them authenticate it instead of grading...still one the fence.
I'm also thinking about getting Troy Glaus to sign the ticket then get it graded. I'm not a Glaus collector, but he was the World Series MVP in '02, so that would be cool. Other potential autographs include Tim Salmon, Daren Erstad, Troy Percival, Adam Kennedy, Garret Anderson. All of these players (and others) really made a difference in the World Series, so if they sign my ticket it would make for a unique collectible item. Here's a scan of the ticket inside of the cheesy holder it's been held captive in for so many years...
Any suggestions would be great!
