These articles make me

Unless the news comes directly from the team, NOTHING is set in stone.

A lot can happen between now and Monday. A lot.

Why would they do this they have Wil Myers who is raking.

You DON'T draft in the 1st round to fill your needs for a position. You draft THE BEST AVAILABLE.

Sorry, but this has been said time and time again on these boards.

It's actually quite relevant and not so laughable.

No team from 1-3 is going to take Grandal over Harper/Machado/Taillon. So, he will be there and the Royals aren't afraid to spend money.

BTW, I called this.

I don't trust any news, reports before the draft anyway, in any sport, ever.

He's too talented to pass on IMHO, but some mocks have him going alot lower than #4.

....and that is because of the reported money demands. Really, the only team that can announce they'll take him are the Royals at #4.

They have dealt with Boras before and they pay their draft picks well.

The Friday before the draft last year we knew Tony Sanchez would be drafted by the Pirates.

Well, there you have it. Clearly, Grandal will be sporting KC colors. Case closed.

Actually, the Top 5 going like this fits every teams draft philosophy:

1. Washington Nationals - Bryce Harper ( best talent regardless of position, need, representation or educational status.)
2. Pittsburgh Pirates - Manny Machado ( Signability based on both quantity and quality.)
3. Baltimore Orioles - Jameson Taillon ( highest-rated player according Mlb's scouting bureau )
4. Kansas City Royals - Yasmani Grandal ( Quickest to the Majors)
5. Cleveland Indians - Drew Pomeranz ( College players: 49 college players vs 9 prep players last year)

If I was the Royals I take Choice and have a corner OF ready in a year and a half if he can prove he can hit for average in the minors. Power and walks will not be a problem.

Uh, I think he was just stating that there is precedent for this kind of thing. Sources leak, it doesn't have to come from the team.

You sure seem quite worked up about this.

Not at all. I own a considerable stash of his AFLAC's and the higher he goes, the better.

Thanks for the assumption, though. 8-)

Several of the mock drafts I have seen have the Royals taking Chris Sale but I think they will take Drew Pomeranz.JMO.
