Just wondering your thoughts on this.

Now that his value is slipping, and becoming more attainable to build a nice stash on the cheap, is he still worth the investment? I personally think he still has talent and will pan out eventually to a all star caliber type player. So what do you think?

Sell and take a loss?

Buy and hope for the best?

He's the type of guy I'll often pick up a small stash of. Unfortunately I'm sitting on a ton of his stuff (one of my worst prospecting mistakes as I went against my rules and bought into the hype.) The huge drop in power is hard to explain, but he is still young.

Before the season started I bought a few more his cards. I still have faith in him

Yeah, I still have faith too.

It is frustrating when a player is hyped so much and does not pan out right away, but the kid still has talent imo, and I have to think he will eventually come around to be a .300/30/100 type player with speed and a glove.

Great time to buy? Maybe.

A. He has to eventually put it all together.

B. You have to actually find someone will to part with something not at prices from 3-4 years ago. Still can't get the seller of the Mirror Black to budge from $1750.

So much of his nice stuff is just sitting is ebay stores with ridiculous prices... Which sucks quite a bit for real fans.

What your getting with Delmon Young shouldn't be a surprised. He wasn't a real 5 tool prospect. Having a nice swing doesn't count has a tool. Plus, he is going to get bigger.

What your going to get more likely during his peak years is a line like this:

.315 12 HR 40 Doubles with a great arm

I also still have faith with Delmon. The Twinkies need to figure out what to do with Michael Cuddyer (trade) and just let Span, Gomez, and Young play every day. I think they could get something for Cuddyer. Until they do that I don't think Young will get the AB's to get a price jump because Gomez plays for his defense and Span will be there every day.

They spread it around. Here is the stats for games played so far...

Span - 24
Cuddyer - 24
Kubel - 23
Young - 18
Gomez - 18

I guess I'm on the other side. I don't think he'll ever live up to the power expectations. I bet he ends up being like his brother. Good hitter, but not a masher.

So the general concensus is that he is still worth holding on to and picking up if, and when, for a good price?
