Bought a lot of 25 BCP5 Andrew Cashner Chromes. Or atleast that is what i thought i bought. I received just the regular Bowman version. The title said BCP which means Bowman Chrome so now i have to go through the paypal dispute to right this wrong. Do you think the seller did this on purpose or just an accident. I know i will win the dispute but just sucks.

Post a link to the auction.

Instead of going straight to Paypal, maybe send an email to the seller?

Read the description. It states 2010 Bowman. The same as the title. BCP5 is the number on the back of the card I believe.

"(25) 2010 Bowman BCP5 Andrew Cashner RC Lot"

::facepalm::

Ya know, I don't want to be mean, but you didn't buy 25 2010 Bowman Chrome BCP5 Andrew Cashner RC lot. You bought Bowman.

You got what you paid for.

If we just go by the subject line the OP is right. However one of the benefits of buying from a reputable seller is that they tend to make things right even if the dispute falls in a grey area.

BCP is for the Bowman Chrome Prospects. BP is for the Bowman Prospects. I can see the confusion. Like Phillyfan said, the seller is a mod here so this should get resolved quite swiftly. Title says BCP which is Chrome and description says 2010 Bowman

EDIT... Gilmore just beat me to it

This isn't a gray area. When the seller is a mass lister, you have to almost expect that card #s would be wrong. What if it was, instead of BP5, listed as BP1? Would the buyer expect a lot of 10 Strasburgs?

The magic word "chrome" wasn't there. For the buyer to think that he's getting Chrome cards without it being in the title is naive.

It was a mistake on my part to put BCP5 in the auction title, there is no doubt about it.

That being said, the title does not say chrome in it, its being sold in a lot of 25 and the price it would won at should indicate what it was, but like I said, I can see how it would be a little confusing (although I was selling 20 ct lots with chrome in the title at the same time).

I've refunded two other buyers who thought they were getting the chromes too, I have no problem doing it, it was my mistake.

That being said, here is what pisses me off about this. He opened a case at the exact same time the email was sent. Of course the way it looks to paypal is that I haven't been working with him or responding to him, this is what he marked, when in reality, he got a refund less than 15 minutes after he sent the email.

At least give me a chance to make this right before you go straight to paypal.

I agree Jeff, if I was the buyer here with a lot of 25 cards (chromes are almost always in 20s), the fact that I was selling other 20 ct chrome lots at the same time and the fact that Chrome wasn't in the title (think of all the dollars I would have missed out on) I would hope that conclusion would be drawn.

However, since I did have a C in the title, my case isn't fullproof and like I said, he got a refund the moment he sent the email...its the opening of the paypal case which is a permanent mark on my record that ticks me off.

I hear ya Phil, but you gotta see that many buyers don't know the flip side of the coin and assume that is the proper course of action.

I think that anyone knows that with any transaction they have that doesn't go as planned, whether on ebay or not, the proper course of action is to work with the private party first rather than calling the "police." He sent me a message after all, he knew he could do that.

Also, doesnt paypal tell you like 5 times if you have tried to communicate with the seller directly?

I too went by the card# in the title (Dillon Gee lot) thinking it would be chrome. No worries though, it was only a few bucks.
