You can roll your eyes all you want, but here is Beltre's Sept line.

.345 avg, .390 OBP, .700 SLG, 11 HRs and 20 RBIs. Many of those were in big moments.

No Beltre, no playoffs...period.

Hamilton's first two months:

.368 AVG 21 HR 57 RBI

How easily you forget b/c of one month of subpar play. Your playoffs are not determined in just September.

No Hamilton, no playoffs, period.

Exactly x2.

Beltre's "big moments" gave the Rangers a whopping 15-13 September. Hamilton gave the Rangers a 31-20 record to start the season.

Congratulations Josh. You have proven without a doubt that the Rangers should not resign you with your absolutely pathetic 0-4 w/ 2 more strikeouts. It has been 45 critical at-bats since your last homer.

I wish Josh good luck next season. I hope he has a great year. It just won't be for the Rangers.

What did Adrian Beltre do yesterday?

Jeez, when the guy was on fire, people were calling him the MVP of the league and saying this is the "new" Josh Hamilton. Now he has a down month and people are basically saying he's done.

Fair-weathered fans.

Going by your logic, since Trout didn't fare as well at the end of the season as Cabrera did:

Trout didn't help his team when it mattered - he should not be an LA Angel next year.

Edit: But, if it's Hamilton's choice, he may not be a Ranger next year.

I like Hamilton and his faith, but comparing a Biblical verse to a few boos is a little extreme: “If they don’t receive you in a town, shake the dust off your feet and move to the next.”

I wouldn't be so down on Josh Hamilton as he got them into the position they were in for the first place but I want to know what the hell happened to Michael Young. Michael Young has always been a more "scary" hitter than any power guy they had because you knew if he would make the opposing team pay if he had the chance. IF these numbers are to be belived Young makes $3million more than Hamilton and statistically he's playing well below average.

All those boos are from bandwagon fans who can afford playoff tickets and probably went to their first game of the year.
The team just hit a slump at the wrong time. The playoffs are about "Timely" hitting and shutting down the other team and they failed to do those things most of September and in to October.

Hamilton had a crappy last few games, it's a shame this is how fans treated him and how he responded when his team needed him most. I have meet him off the field and he is a nice guy willing to chat with anyone he meets, but he has issues in makeup and as a teammate. He is the guy with all the talent in the world but lacks the character to use it wisely. To many excuses and flaky things happen to him.
Saying that, I hope the Rangers are able to resign him because where do they find production like that on the free agent market or in a trade? They don't have any big bats in the minors to take his place. This team may have to switch to a speed, small ball type team if they lose Hamilton and Napoli.

As great as everyone makes him out to be, guy does seem like a flake at times and more often than not, he gets a pass.

I have season tickets for the Rangers. I booed him too. I booed the effort of the whole team. It was pathetic.

To each his own. I personally don't "boo" my team, yeah I may let a curse word out, say they sucked or played like crap but never will I boo my team.
More than anything I feel depressed and upset when they lose in the playoffs. I was a miserable person to be around after Game 7 last year.
About the same after yesterday.
As a Ranger fan since 1988 I can say these have been the most fun years to watch them play and maybe it was disappointing to see them lose big games but better to be in a big game than suffer a 100+ loss season like the Astros or Cubs.

This team needs to fill some holes in the roster but I think they will compete for a playoff spot for the foreseeable future. We have good ownership, front office, and clubhouse chemistry.
I think they have a good group of guys who enjoy playing with each other just not sure they have a leader who can get into someone's face and
set the team right when it is getting off track. Hamilton is not a leader nor will he be successful if another team expects that from him. MY is about as good as we have and sometimes I question his need or want to police his teammates.

Maybe they resign Josh, maybe they don't, not having him as a distraction may help the team and allow them to add better pieces to the roster. Starting pitching is still an issue, Holland regressed which needs to be addressed badly and at least 2 more solid starters would help as would putting Feliz back in the bullpen.

So what are you going to do with your Hamilton collection if he leaves?

It sucked hang in there and I know I took some shots at you just joking around of course. It's great we can boo or be mad at a playoff team could be much worse and there is always next year.

You don't need stats to see that he has a terrible approach at the plate, is aging, has injury problems, and is overall declining. Some team will regret paying him lots of money.

His play may have been sloppy in the last month or two, but his skills aren't declining.
He scored the most runs of his career, hit the most homers by 11, had only 2 fewer rbi than his career high, had the second highest slugging % and OPS of his career and should finish 3rd in MVP voting.
That's a hell of a lot better than 98% of the league.
