Maine of course......
I've been waiting to show this off and coincidentally saw on FB that today is Honus Wagner's date of birth. He was born on this date in 1874.

Wagner is one of the original (5) members elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936 and is widely regarded as the best shortstop of all time. He's of course also know as the player on the most expensive baseball card, the T206 Wagner.

Anyway, this is my 218th different Hall of Famer autograph and comes with a JSA LOA, but I'll eventually submit to PSA for slabbing. This is a 1953 GPC (Government Postcard) signed when Wagner was almost 79 years old.

Thanks for looking.

Very cool, would love a Honus auto. Happy Birthday Flying Dutchman!

My wife is from Pittsburgh, as were her Dad and Grandpa. When her grandpa died a few years ago, they found this card in his papers. Honus did appearances for the company and would hand out these cards. The date of this card is still unknown, and the description of it in the Standard Catalog is vague. Probably issued mid-late 1940's. Sent it to Beckett to grade and they wouldn't grade it since they had no knowledge of it.

My father-in-law asked me to sell it for him. I put it on Net54 and had several offers, sold it for $350. Regret selling it though.

Very good, I do love those GPCs. That is a major pickup for your collection Scott.

can you post the other side? I love seeing the postmark and address on these things.

....sorry, interweb problems the entire day.......I am happy with this clean autograph at a fair price. Next up hopefully is Cy Young and/or Kid Nichols.

Here's the reverse. I am almost 100% certain I also have another GPC sent to this collector. I'll have to double check. The tear does not bother me at all.
