I have got in contact by leaving my email a couple of times through pb. I have managed to buy a few cards also by googling the photobucket names and finding them either on ebay or message boards.

There are several cards I drool over on photobucket and flickr,
including 2 Dawsons from 05 Absolute that will never leave the
owners PC. Damn set collectors

I've found a few cards I drool over that way. I've noticed a message or two posted to my cards, also, but the problem is that I don't notice them until loooong after they're posted (I don't get any email or messages telling me that I got one). Does anyone else not get notices like this or is it just me?

It's worked for me. I've gotten a Mark Grace patch and an auto that way. The comments have never worked for me, but I've found that I just do a Google search for the photobucket user's name, it often turns up on a hobby message board and then I contact them through that.

I had a post like this a while back. I actually acquired a Mondesi patch card by searching through photobucket. I've gotten a few other responses for other cards but nothing to serious.
