Honestly, they have always been my favorite team but I never really looked into it that much.......

They can basically field an entire team that hits .300+

Has this ever happened before? I cant remember a team that could send out this type of roster.

But really, EVERY player in the line-up can hit .300 ( or REALLY close )

Has this ever happened before? It really is an amazing feat.

You have to give Bobby Abreu a lot of credit for emerging as quite the leader this season. It was pretty clear that he was going to outperform his miniscule contract, but I think he has to be considered a legitimate MVP candidate this season and was definitely the free agent bargain of the year. Probably won't win it, but he's sure done a heckuva job in the middle of that lineup.

The 1930 St Louis Cardinals are the only team to have all 8 starters play over 100 games with each batting over .300:

C Jimmie Wilson .318 (107 games)
1B Jim Bottomley .304 (131 games)
2B Frankie Frisch .346 (133 games)
SS Charlie Gelbert .304 (139 games)
3B Sparky Adams .314 (137 games)
OF Chick Hafey .336 (120 games)
OF Taylor Douthit .303 (154 games)
OF George Watkins .373 (119 games)

And for good measure, their other two OFs also batted over .300:
OF Showboat Fisher .374 (92 games)
OF Ray Blades .396 (45 games)

Oh, all 5 of their top starters had winning percentages over .500 (4 were over .600), and all had at least 12 wins.

They lost the World Series to the Philadelphia A's, 4 games to 2.

More recently, the 1997 Red Sox, the 1995 Indians, and the 1980 Cardinals all had 6 starters bat over .300. The 1997 Red Sox also had utility infielder Mike Stanley hit .300, but he only played in 97 games.
