They've tried some weird things over the years but they definitely should be doing more with apps. And I'm not talking about Bunt, that's horse crap

well, I used to think it was cool to have a QR code on the card to go to a website for more information or video of that athlete, but the last few cards I've scanned, the QR code comes back as webpage not found.

If companies other than topps that put QR codes on their cards can't keep up webpage content for more than a few months such that someone like me who buys a card a year or two later can't see the content, why bother with QR codes for additional content or information?

The Moustachefractor: like a Superfractor, but they Photoshop a luxurious moustache onto the player's face.

How about Relic cards that are encapsulated so that you could deter fake patches. not really that far outside the box, but seems like an easy fix

Should have been in place a long time ago. Basically if you tried to remove / cut it would destroy the card.

I agree with the destroy the card part as well. Doesn't seem to difficult either. Heck, My thought was premium sets should all do this at least

I sort of wish one company had licenses in all 4 sports and did cool cross-over cards. Like a Wisconsin card featuring Brett Favre, Robin Yount and Ray Allen for no other reason than I would totally buy it (although it would o doubt be a massive sticker dump not unlike the last Upper Deck SP).

Yeah that would be cool , like a Randy , Fitz , Barkley , Gretzky matchup

One wacky idea that could be successfully re-hashed is the wild card stripe. For those members too young or for those that can't remember, wild card came out and you would get several parallel cards per case that had a stripe with either a 5,10,25,50,100 or 1000 on it and you could trade the 50 striped version in for 50 base cards or you could trade in say 50 base cards for the 50 stripe card. With the way people like to do rainbows I think this could be an interesting concept as it might make the base more desirable since you could trade the base in to get your higher denomination stripe. As long as the print run was moderate, say 5000 of each base card there couldn't be that many rainbows made and if you had a good checklist I think this would be a very interesting set to collect.

It would be even more fun if after a certain date the cards that were sent back to be traded were destroyed and a final print run of what was actually circulating was released, I think there would be several sp's among the different stripe levels or even base.
