AJ that is AWESOME! Can you tell the story of how you finally snatched the tag? THANKS!

It's a horrible story for one - I believe it happened providentially though... sorry it's a long one!

`Here we go - I "had" a good collector friend that also wanted the 2012 Spectacular Patch 1/1 before we ever knew where it was or saw it... He actually had it listed on his website as his #1 wanted card out of 10.
Not that it really matters... but, I had expressed to him I wanted it shortly after it appeared on checklist for the product - He was aware of it when I told him and then it made its way to his wanted list shortly after.
As I posted earlier - I made a custom card - I have made several in the past (which look really good) I would send pics of the cards I made to other Canseco card collectors (friends) and they would get a laugh out
of them. I would send the pic and not say anything about it - Then they would say "cool if it was real" or call me out and say "nice Photo Shop job." I NEVER meant to mislead anyone or attempt to sell these cards.
He also has a Canseco card website. I would leave random comments on cards mainly I had traded to him or had something to do with - He knew it was me. This was thrown in my face later because "I play games."
Now I have known him 4-5 years and he knows where a pretty impressive 1/1 Canseco is located and has been trying to get it off the guy with no response as long as he has been trying. So out of the blue about 5
weeks ago I wrote him before I went to bed and said>"Hey I just paid that guy for the 1/1 you were trying to get!" He immediately responded knowing it was a joke (*Note I have never made a joke like that before).
He said, "I'm sure you're the one sending me a message (through his site) that you have the Canseco 1/1 Spectacular patch as well." I told him that it wasn't me and to pursue it. He believed me and said he would.
Well the next day he wrote "So you've seen it?" I said, "No, show me?" He said, "Really"...? Then he sent me a picture of this awesome Laundry Tag card. He still thought it was me messing with him at first because
it looked so close to the one I Photo Shopped only a month or so earlier and it was a Laundry Tag which he knows is my WHITE WHALE that got away over 3 years earlier and it still bothered me. Since there was no
chance of me getting my hands on it I supported him getting it. He was asking how much he should offer. I told him whatever it takes! -"Just to GET IT!" I offered to lend him money to get it. If there was a chance
we could make a trade later *I would pretty much give him whatever he wanted for it. So I was rooting for him/us to get it! Then it popped up on eBay while he was trying to "make a deal" with the guy! Well it was
pretty much game over after that... Anyone that saw it can and did write the seller. I STILL held back while my friend was trying to make a deal. Once he said the seller was unresponsive I had to intervene I could
not lose another Laundry Tag... If it disappeared after this I was pretty sure I would never see one again. Before I even went for it I asked my friend if I could write the guy since he was not responding to HIS offer
and he said "Yup" Well, to sum it up: I struck a deal with the guy $$$$. -NOW my friend doesn't speak to me since he says I cost him the card since he didn't take the sellers email seriously when he first received it
days earlier because he thought it was me messing with him. The way it all came together was unbelievable although, I lost my card buddy over it. I understand where he is coming from but, I don't think I screwed
him out of it. He was contacted by the seller because it was #1 on his list on his website. He ignored it because he thought it was a joke... What were the chances?? It's a card of lifetime and I do feel bad for him.

Even with the misunderstanding, your friend had a shot when it went on eBay. Hey, to the winner goes the spoils!

HAHAHAHA....Awesome! Razor, you should print this out with a 1/1 gold foil stamp in the bottom right corner, sign it, and then send it to that former collector buddy of yours. Maybe inscribe "Sorry for your loss" somewhere on there.

I appreciate the comments - I don't think I should rub salt in the wound by sending the awesome RAZOR picture! I'd have to say If this card didn't come along my favorite would have to be this:

Your collection is absolutely INSANE.

As for your title question, I've been trying to will these 2 cards to the market for over a year now:

2009 Allen & Ginter N43 Autographs Joba Chamberlain #/15
2010 Allen & Ginter N43 Autographs Dustin Pedroia #/15

Haven't been successful yet........

the loss of this card is worse than going down a slide of RAZORblades into a pool of rubbing alcohol....

For the record its not me because I never had interest in this card unless I scored it on a cheap BIN or offline before anyone else saw it.

Sorry for bumping a lost thread but what is the best way to WILL a card to the market? Just posting about them or something you can do on ebay or what?

Only one I can think of is the '06 Sweet Spot Auto JJ 1/1 that is / was up. Still looking to get it, but at my price, not the seller's :-D
