Well, aside from the Cardinals losing, my maiden voyage to Wrigley Field was fun and exciting.
It's very awesome to go to a place where so many greats of the game from yesteryear have played.
Didn't really have any bad interactions with any obnoxious Cubs fans. After the game there was a car driving by us in Wrigleyville and yelling at us telling us to go home. And then a guy walked by me and muttered under his breath "I hope that's not permanent." after looking down at my Cardinals tattoo. I just ignored both instances. There was a funny moment while boarding the train at Union Station after the game. A few Cubs fans cut in front of my wife and said "Cubs fans first." and my wife said something like "Well it must be nice to be first at something for once." He didn't have a reply.
After the game we went and got some pizza in Wrigleyville. Then headed to Michigan Avenue and went by Michael Jordan's Steakhouse, and down to the historic Billy Goat Tavern. That place was absolutely amazing. We watched the Kentucky Derby while we were there. It was so cool being in a place where you know so many people you love have hung out. The likes of Akroyd, Belushi, Murray, and other iconic people. Such a treat to go there. Can't wait to go back and actually eat one of their famous cheeseburgers.
Fun time all around, Junior Lake was swinging for the fences all day long.
