I'm going to a signing tomorrow night, and was wondering what the best pen/marker to use on a mini-helmet is? I'm thinking something silver to stand out against the Vikings' purple, but really want something that will sign nicely. If you reply, if you could also let me know where I would track down such a pen/marker, it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks!!

I have a couple oil-based paint pens made by Sharpie in gold & silver that have worked well. I can't quite remember where I picked them up though.

BTW - who are you getting at the signing?

Jared Allen is signing up in Eden Prairie tomorrow night. While meeting athletes is always kinda cool, this one will be even better!

If you go to an arts & crafts store, they should have a nice variety of different color paint pens. For the Vikings, I would suggest a YELLOW paint pen, the auto will pop and it will look really nice. I saw a full size AP helmet signed in yellow and it looked AMAZING!!!!

Yellow is a good thought - Never even considered it!

So a paint pen is what I should go with?

All have been thanked for their help!

Yes, a paint pen but make sure it's oil based and NOT water based.

I'd go silver paint pen, make sure it's thick wide. Jared likes to sign very thin and wispy. I wouldn't get him on a helmet. I'd look on the net and find a nice shot of him and do a quick order at walgreens photo in 8x10 size or even 16x20. Is it a paid signing or a radio show bit? I bring A FEW THINGS IN CASE HE DOES MULTIPLES.

Turns out you needed a ticket to get an auto... and I neglected to do so. Luckily he does the show every Thursday, so a return trip is definitely going to happen.

Is that a Bowman Chrome red refractor Andy Pettitte in your avatar? I bet that's the one I was bidding on a couple weeks ago, isn't it?
