Hello. The first card is a 1997 Pinnacle Certified Stars #137 and the odd thing is the name is in silver, but it is not a mirror. Could it be a sample or promo? I can't find a match. The second card is a 1948 Bowman Yogi Berra reprint, but the back does not indicate who made the reprint or what year it is from. Thank you in advance for any help.

Reprint cards are usually not listed in any price guides or card collecting websites like Becketts OPG And usually don't have any value

The "reprint" Berra is more likely just a worthless counterfeit card. Authorized reprints are labeled as such and make sure that you know what you are dealing with, and do sometimes have some collector value to them. A counterfeit rookie card may hold value to some collectors as a placeholder because they can't afford the real thing, but this was clearly made with deception in mind.

For some reason, the majority of collectors seem to overlook this subtle misuse of the work reprint, thus further accepting counterfeit cards as normal.

If available take a side picture of the Vlad. Hard with such a poor pic to decipher whats happening on this one
A lot of the promos like the Jose Cruz were in Silver, yet when the set came out they were bronzed
Interesting card- let's see better and clearer front and back pics if possible- maybe use a phone ??
Those pics look like they were done on an All in one scanner/printer -see if you can get one with better reader tech in it like an Epson V300 or V600 and rescan

The Berra looks like the reprint set that was produced by Larry Fritsch cards- still available cheaply as sets

Thank you for the responses. Here is a phone pic of the front of the Vlad. Yes, the prior pics were from a flatbed scanner. The circle at the left top appears to be missing the bronze also.

Torn here between calling it a sample or "missing foil". If I owned it would inspect closely. If that circle is all black, no visible foil, then its an easy "missing foil" variation. Think i have some of other players.

I'd only consider it a sample if it were accompanied with the original letter Pinnacle sent introducing the series.
Curiosity here 🤔🤔

Back in the 90's unknown companies made what were called back then border sports cards. They were unlicensed by all the major league sports. The cards were of all well know big league stars and some lesser stars. The cards usually didn't have any manufactures name printed on the cards. No one knows who was behind them all. They were all over the place at shows and card shops. Some of those cards were pretty good quality pictures and card stock. I guess if you couldn't afford an expensive card. Any card with your favorite player would do. People finally caught on or got tired of see those border cards all over the place. They all but disappeared.

*Broder was the term.

The Vlad looks to have missed the foil embossing. Nothing special about that and marginal value, probably only to a player collector.
