I don't usually post these, but I am starting to worry.

June 20th I sold two Ryan Braun Base Chrome Autos to a man who's address shows in FLORIDA.

His listed Address on ebay was:
JAMES XXXXXXX (Last name blocked out for privacy)
1794 Elm Dr.
Venice FL 34293
United States
(941) 497-0011

I shipped this through Paypal.com through the SHIPNOW option as he paid via MoneyOrder. I advised him before payment that he should pay via Paypal but he insisted to pay via money order. I had no issue at the time and told him I would wait for the money order to clear my bank before shipping the merchandise.

Here is the pasted tracking information from USPS.com:
Label/Receipt Number: 9101 1501 3471 1739 6663 66
Class: First-Class Mail®
Service(s): Delivery Confirmation™
Status: Delivered

Your item was delivered at 2:12 PM on July 15, 2009 in MOORPARK, CA 93021.

Detailed Results:

Delivered, July 15, 2009, 2:12 pm, MOORPARK, CA 93021
Arrival at Unit, July 15, 2009, 8:45 am, MOORPARK, CA 93021
Processed through Sort Facility, July 14, 2009, 10:48 pm, SANTA CLARITA, CA 91383
Undeliverable as Addressed, July 08, 2009, 3:37 pm, VENICE, FL 34293
Processed through Sort Facility, July 08, 2009, 2:46 am, TAMPA, FL 33605
Processed through Sort Facility, July 07, 2009, 2:30 am, OAK CREEK, WI 53154
Electronic Shipping Info Received, July 06, 2009

The item says it was delivered to CA, and that it was underverable to FL! He keeps asking me when his cards will arrive, but I have a sneaking suspicion that this is a scam. I am thinking he has a forwarded address to California from a FL residence.

Any thoughts?

I have seen many strange things with the USPS, even stuff as crazy as this before.....have you talked with the postmaster yet???? If they say he had the mail forwarded to a different address, etc. then I would think you are in the clear.

Was the item insured? If so there is no problem. Also, since he paid via a Money Order he has no leg to stand on with a claim against you. There is no Paypal Seller Protection in this case. It sounds fishy, but nothing would surprise me with the USPS lately.

He did not purchase optional insurance. He is currently asking for a refund. I'll bet the guy has the cards....

This is not correct.

I shipped something to a buyer that showed delivered via DC and when we filed the claim, the USPS said that they could not pay the claim because the package showed delivered.

Now, I wasn't out anything, but the buyer was out the money & the cards.

Can he still give me a negative?

Sure, but who cares........I wouldnt worry about one negative on ebay just because some yahoo is claiming he doesnt have the cards when you can prove it false, or at least that it is on the Post Office....

E-Mail him the tracking number and copy and paste the tracking info just in case he says he cant access the tracking page.
Don't refund him, he's trying to hold your feedback hostage.
Let him leave you a neg and just respond to his neg (at the bottom of your feedback there is a link to respond to feedback) with a link to a photobucket image of a screencapture showing the tracking info. That way when someone checks your neg they can click on the link and see a screenshot of the tracking showing it was all the USPS.

I'm sure James feels very private with his complete address and telephone number posted on a public forum. But hey, at least you took out his last name.

Plus if the buyer threatens you with feedback make sure to save all of the emails because eBay usually removes negatives when there is feedback extortion. Just be smart in the way that you respond to him and let him say the wrong things.

Yes, it sucks to get a negative, but you did your job right and the buyer didn't follow eBay rules of paying via Paypal. If he did he would be able to file a claim. Make sure you block him from bidding on anything else of yours. No need to get any other unwanted negatives.

I'm sure you can get his feedback retracted too. You have proof it was delivered. Anythign he says that is not based on facts can be removed.
