Hendo vs Ace II at 103.

What I read this morning. They just fought at 93, and Henderson was supposed to get Spider next. So I don`t know the purpose of this fight really. This card better be on free TV, because the buys will suck ass if it isn`t. Isn`t that about the time Money Mayweather is fighting too?

Spider is fighting this month and hendo fought 2 weeks ago.

It would be another 3-4 months before their fight, and hendo probably needed another win before they would consider giving him the shot again.

I still dont think Hendo can beat Silva, but, it would be a very good fight

I am just not seeing the point of this particular fight. Dana already said the winner of Bisping/Hendo gets Silva next. If Hollywood gets beat by Franklin then that`s out the window. And if Franklin wins, nobody wants to see him fight Silva again. And wasn`t Franklin moving up to 205 anyway? So where is this fight going to take place at, 185 or 205? I guess this could set up GSP next for Silva if Hendo were to lose. Just doesn`t make a ton of sense at this juncture, with them having just fought, added with the other factors.

I agree, it is a pointless fight, but, who knows why they booked it.

I think they might be trying to hold out hope for GSP to recover from the groin pull for a fight with Silva honestly, so they are giving hendo and rich a chance to get work in, then, have that fight with silva

Hard to say why they booked this.

I guess the first fight was kind of a toss up.
IIRC one judge had it for Rich, the other 2 for Hendo.

Also, truthfully, I dont think the UFC/Dana expected Henderson to dispatch Bisping with such ease.
Dan barely even broke a sweat.
I think Dana expected Bisping to go to decision and hence even if Dan won and Dana gave Dan another title shot, he has Bisping waiting for the winner of Hendo/Silva!

The way I see it is this.

Henderson/Franklin - if Dan wins, he faces the winner of Maia/Marquardt for a title shot. If Rich wins, the winner of Maia/Marquardt gets an automatic title shot and Dan would face the loser of that fight to see who still remains relevant at 185.

Actually Dana said Bisbing would get the shot if he won because that fight would have been in Manchester, Bisbing's home town. I'm not really that excited about this fight though even though I thought Ace on the first fight.

Didn't Dana call Mayweather's bluff and said he'll pay him his 20mil and then Mayweather admitted it was just for publicity to get more PPV buys for his fight? This was after Dana agreed to let him pick any fighter on the UFC roster. Make no mistake about it, and arrogant boxer would get his ass handed to him in an MMA bout. I don't buy the "they would be able to get past my jab" BS.

Boxing has become irrelevant and Mayweather's antics are what keeps people interested and how they try to attract more people,

Not quite.

PBF said it would make no sense for him to come to MMA for a few hundred grand when he makes 20 million per fight. Then Dana White said he would put up enough for it to be worthwhile for PBF if he would fight Sherk.

Yes, the winner of Marquart/Maia is the next Silva victim/sacrifice. Although I think Maia's the only MW who's BJJ comes close to Silva, but that fight will never get to the mat.
