Pending physical Brett is going to sign a contract with the Vikings.

(Reported by ESPN).

He really needs to hang the gloves

Move makes sense for the vikings.......

However, if we really want the football/basketba/hockey/mma boards to be successful it would really be nice to have this type of stuff posted there..
::facepalm:: lol

First off congrats on a non Lincy related post. :P

Secondly this does belong on the football boards. And just letting you know that i moved it. ;)

I hope he does sign, will make the Packers/Vikings games more interesting. Maybe it means the packers secondary will have career numbers for those two games.

Its funny the same people here at work that every week Favre had a bad game would come up to me and rip on Favre are the same ones creaming their drawers today. OMG Favre is on a plane. OMG Favre landed in St Paul. OMG Favre is signing a contract. Favre is bringing us a super bowl!!! Seriously look at his playoff record the last 10 years or so, not that impressive. Look at the last 5-6 games last year. Ouch!!! Good luck Queens you are going to need it.

I'm not a Favre fan, nor am I a Favre hater. This being said, I am going to laugh my ass off if the Vikings do well this year!

Vikes were 10 - 6 with Gus and Tjax last year. The Jets were 9 - 7 with Favre. Just saying.

Re: Here we go again... Favre en route to MN - on Vikings plane

Okay - lets review - he's:

a.) old
b.) injured
c.) out of shape
d.) new to the playbook and all his teammates

He put this off as long as possible in order to not have to go through OTA's and the first couple of weeks of training camp and now he's going to ride in on his white stallion and take over? God, what an ego. ::facepalm:: And the funniest part is that the Vikings (and most of their fans) are buying into it like this going to put them over the top. Didn't they see what a devisive presence Brett and his inflated self-opinion have been in the locker room for the Packers and the Jets the last few years?

I love the guy for what he did for us here as a Packer but this has failure written all over it. I can't wait to boo him when he comes back to Lambeau.

Report that Favre has a small rotator cuff tear in his throwing shoulder. Honestly with that I don't think the consecutive game streak lasts this year. Also does Favre make this team better than last years 10-6 record? If so how much better? 1 2 3 or more games.

It's funny, it goes the other way as well. I remember lots of Packer fans basically worshiping the ground Favre walked on.

The Vikes are still the best team in the division. Da Bears and (azz) Packers are the ones needing luck.

You'd be surprised, there are many of us who aren't too thrilled to see Favre coming. Having a decent QB is what could really put us over the top. Whether Rosenfels or Favre can run the offense efficiently remains to be seen, but Sage really looked sharp vs Indy (mind you it was only preseason). Personally, I'm just glad to not have to put up with Gus anymore.
