d.) new to the playbook and all his teammates

He put this off as long as possible in order to not have to go through OTA's and the first couple of weeks of training camp and now he's going to ride in on his white stallion and take over? God, what an ego. ::facepalm:: And the funniest part is that the Vikings (and most of their fans) are buying into it like this going to put them over the top. Didn't they see what a devisive presence Brett and his inflated self-opinion have been in the locker room for the Packers and the Jets the last few years?

I love the guy for what he did for us here as a Packer but this has failure written all over it. I can't wait to boo him when he comes back to Lambeau. :twisted:

Yada yada yada. I have a hard time believing it's as identical as he claims. It may be similar in scheme but the play names, all the variables, etc. - he's going to have a learning curve.

I can't wait to boo him at the Metrodome. I was really happy when he decided to stay retired, and now its just a crushing blow to Vikings fans and the rivalry. I haven't really followed the vikings since we traded Randy Moss anyways, and this year doesn't look to be any different.


And contrary to what you were saying above, I've yet to talk to anyone that thinks the acqusition of Favre is a good thing for our organization.

Vikes were 10 - 6 with Gus and Tjax last year. The Jets were 9 - 7 with Favre. Just saying.

I would say ap and the viked defense were 10 - 6 last year

Polls are a joke most of the time, but I guess the 70 or so people I talked to are in the 1/3rd minority. Not really a big football fan anyway, so this doesn't effect me either way. Only use football as an excuse to drink on Sunday

I really do feel that if Minnesota starts him, they will be hurting themselves. Brett years ago? Sure, he'd help. Not now though, he's too careless and doesn't seem to realize that he's lost some of his touch.

Here's my evaulation right before the 14th time he was throwing the idea around.

I'm just going to throw this out there for what it's worth. I wouldn't rejoice (not saying anybody here is) about the coming of Favre. He's not really much of an upgrade over last years duo of T Jack and The Fearsom Ferret (numberwise at least). Hopefully my math is right. No doubt having Peterson/Taylor is an upgrade over Thomas Jones that will help Favre out, but...

BOTTOM LINE :
Favre had 77 more completions with 72 more attempts.
Favre had only 259 more yards passing with 77 more completions thrown.
Favre had only 1 more passing touchdown.
Favre had 4 more interceptions, but with more attempts.
Favre was sacked 14 more times less.

Are the Vikings really that much better off with him? Rosenfels doesn't have a full season, and I don't feel like doing the extra math to average things out.
