This is why buying new player autographs is so frustrating when you don't beat the idiots and secure a copy early. Whoever these people are have more $ than smarts. it might seem a bit harsh, judgmental perhaps, let people collect how they want, but actions affect more than yourself sometimes. This scene repeats itself many, many times over the years. Every year in fact, multiple times a year.
Seriously, who are the people who run out and snap up overpriced autographs immediately after a rookie has a good debut game? It will probably take months for this insanity to settle back down to reality, at least on the side of the sellers who will try to milk this success for months! The guy is 28 and that game might be the highlight of his MLB career! if he can string together 10 years to qualify for the HOF, he'll be 38 by the end of that stretch. He'd have to hit like babe Ruth in '27 for 10 consecutive years. Have a little patience people...and be smarter.
