Found this on the National site, done recall seeing this posted before. Would be so cool if one of us got featured. Note the deadline for emails is New Years Eve.

The HGTV Network is looking to power up with some strong "male" dominance by picking a sports super home to do a fabulous TV "Make Over". Do your sports collectibles grow like weeds instead of flowers? Is it one mess from the doorway to doorway? Then you might be the lucky person who becomes a hero to your wife and family, as HGTV comes in and gives you the ultimate home sports collectibles makeover.

Turn your collection into a true sports presentation. HGTV is casting for families in NY, NJ, CT, PA, MD, MA and other Northeast locations.

Email us about your situation at home, what you've got, where you live, etc. and we will turn all emails over to the casting director of HGTV. This is the real deal! Be on TV and get your sports stuff looking GREAT!

Send all emails to: [email protected]

All e-mails must be received by 12/31/09 to be eligible.

I remember reading this somewhere, but i'm a bit underwhelmed. I'm certain it's going to be some AL East, NYY or BOS, super annoying fan.

Hopefully I"m not the only one cheering for a New York Nets or modern-Pirates collector.

"Sir, what would you like us to do with your collection of Jack Wilson memorabilia? We don't follow baseball, but we've heard that he's the least interesting player in the history of the game"

"Oh, and sir... explain to us again why you only collect baseball? You DO understand that the Steelers and Penguins just won everything... right?"

"Sir, I don't know if this mystery box of facial hair labeled 'Dave Wannstedt's First Mustache' counts as a Pitt Panthers collection"

I would never want one of these people to help me out but I have seen some people who have so much stuff that it is literally in those giant plastic tubs stored everywhere.IMO...if it gets like that you either need to shed some weight or get a more focused collecting habit going. My friend Nate has so much junk autographed that he literally doesn't have anywhere to put it and yet he still goes and gets more stuff signed. Some of the dumbest stuff too.I had a long talk with him and he has slowed down and has started to get rid of some things that were absolutely junk.I think if you can't display something and you have to immediately put it in a bin...why even have it?Of course cards are different because I could literally wall paper the whole block with cards but those are meant to keep in a box.Auto'd balls, jersey, photos etc. are meant to be displayed. And if done correctly...you can really make a killer display of them.

blah- wrong on so many levels...limited to certain states, doesn't seem to realize that women also collect cards, etc. plus, i'm not sure how exciting it would be to watch a makeover of someone else's collection. then again, i rarely watch tv, so i'm probably not their target audience haha

You mean they don't want to spend tends of thousands of dollars to ship equipment and people too far away from home-base and would just prefer to drive everyone up there for a quick one-and-done episode?

RIDICULOUS!

lol

This is going to end up being about some schmuck that's a huge Yankee or Red Sox fan, is super annoying, and has probably wasted thousands of dollars buying stuff from Steiner or from buying fake stuff from the stores in the local Mall.

Lol, I just think think the idea needs to be tweaked a little. The way it’s worded, it seems to appeal to a very narrow segment of the population…men dwelling in their mancaves, so it seems like the show, like most “reality” shows, will probably be stereotypical.
