So, unbeknown to me previously, Hibbett Sports are jackasses.

I go in there to buy a Cardinals jersey for my girlfriend.

They have them hanging above the counter and stuff, and they are showing the backs of them. They're looking pretty rockin' with the navy trim around the names and numbers, so I have the dude pull me down a Yadi.

Well, I looked at the front of it and literally laughed at the guy and asked him if he was serious. These jersey's were $100, and I nearly pissed myself with laughter.

The front of the jersey wasn't embroidering or twill or anything. There was one huge patch across the front that was sewn on, obviously split across the middle where the buttons are. And the Birds of the Bad was like printed on the patch very generically.

The dude tried passing it off to me as an authentic MLB jersey.

Am I just not in the know here and MLB has changed to these generic looking screen printed 'patches' for their jerseys, or did Hibbett just order some horrible knock off's to scam and save some money?

Crap, even every replica jersey I have is embroidered, and I have never even seen one of these style jerseys until the other day. It WAS Majestic, but looked fake as crap.

Did they just change or what?

I had the guy put it back and told him yes I did want a Yadi jersey, but I sure as heck wasn't buying one that looked like some mom and pops screen printing place put together. AND that I expected more from a reputable sporting goods store. The ONLY store around here who actually DOES sell Cardinals jerseys. And I checked FOUR different Hibbett's in the area, and they were all the same garbage.

A growing trend is like silk screened plastic with fake stitching. They just look cheap. Baseball does it, and Basketball loves it too.

they look pretty cheap. They're called Replithentic or something stupid.

That's a good way to describe it.

It did look plasticy. But the only stitching on it was what was holding it to the jersey.

Was very disappointed.

I had VERY limited money to spend on Christmas for her, and the few things I did want to get her I couldn't because I couldn't find exactly what I wanted, and I am not going to compromise and get something I don't like that doesn't meet my high standards.

Hibbetts is horrible. Everything there is tremendously over priced. And sucks anyway.

Like I said though, within about an 80 mile radius I think it's the only store that sells Cardinals jersey, and I'm too poor to drive to St. Louis (97 miles away) to just pick up a jersey.

Yeah, I know I could buy them online, but lets just say my bank account isn't really in good standing currently.
