The rumor this morning on ESPN is that the Patriots may be interested if he is reinstated.

If that is true, I wouldn't be surprised. Plenty of analysts gave the Dolphins grief for drafting Pat White in the second round, but i am convinced the Patriots would have selected him in the second with the plethora of picks they had. I think Bill wants to create his own "wildcat" (lord only knows he can;t have another coach outsmarting him) and may see Vick as a viable outlet for that, and another reclamation project that everyone can gush over.

I am definitely a "dog" person, but Leonard Little didn't get nearly this much grief when he was convicted of manslaughter (drunk driving).

Vick's gonna play in the UFL. I'm calling it now. It's going to be the return of Ken "College Great" Dorsey, Tim Rattay, and Michael Vick heading up the newest league.

I hope he doesn't play in the NFL. Playing in the league is a not a right, it's a privilege. This is not the first time Vick has had issues, it's just the first time he went to jail and had to take responsibility for them.

He's not a good QB. He never threw for over 3,000 yards and I don't think he ever had 20 passing TDs (I could be wrong on that one). He doesn't deserve to be in the NFL.

You can say he got railroaded or whatever, but he broke the law. Plain and simple. If what he did "wasn't so bad", there wouldn't be laws against it.

killing people is against the law too. Does not stop Leonard Little from playing. The privledge card is BS. I am totally with Dieon, Rod, and Marshall on that. He paid a debt to society and it is a right to pursue work. Like it or not he will play again. May not start right away and he may not be the best QB but is better then 16 starting QB at least in the league. Definitly better then every backup QB... Railroaded definition is being replaced in Websters as we speak with a pic of Mike Vick

I never said that I thought Little should be playing either. The privilege card is far from BS. Vick has the right to seek employment the same way that you and I do. He can put together a resume and start sending it out.

I disagree that he is better than half of the starting QBs in the NFL. He may be better than some of the backups, but that's about it. Call me crazy, but when looking for a QB, I like a guy who can THROW the ball, throw it accurately, and is looking to pass first. That's been a proven formula for winning in the NFL.

Also, the privilege card plays again when it comes to being a convicted felon. If you don't believe me, feel free to get caught committing a felony and let me know how easy it is to get a job. My brother got in trouble when he turned 18. He turns 27 next month and getting job still proves difficult for him.

Vick was far from railroaded. He ran a criminal enterprise. He supplied the location, money, and dogs. It's not like he got caught simply being at a dogfight or gambling on one, he was running a ring. He was nowhere close to having been railroaded.

I see you collect Pete Rose, don't you think he was railroaded?

No. I just think Pete and his lawyers made a very stupid decision. They never should have agreed to a lifetime ban. I think Pete got a raw deal, but again, he agreed to it so he has to pay the price. What he should have done was tried to have his playing career and managing kept seperate. True he did manage and play at the same time for a couple of seasons, but he wasn't in trouble for gambling until he was only a manager.

Michael Vick was the face of the NFL for the years preceding this event. To say he doesn't belong in the NFL is like saying Mickey Mantle never earned his pinstripes. Without a doubt, one of the most exciting and electric players to watch on the field.

Ray Lewis, Leonard Little, Dante Stallworth have all been involved with taking a human life and were each allowed back in the NFL. Numerous others have been involved in scandalous activities off the field and were allowed to play again. Sure, an example may have been made with the Vick case, but prior precedent has been set and deserves another chance just like the rest.

Vick paid his debt to society, has gone from the top to the absolute bottom, and deserves the chance, just like anyone else, to build himself back up to where he once was.

muskiefan we agree to disagree. Not ike we were gonna change anybodys mind lol
Lets see here is a short list of starting QB's Mike Vick is better then and or would help the team better IMO age taken into consideration as well
You are right maybe not half some obviously people will diasgree with but that is ok I am not debating the point just saying my opinion. AS far as backups better then them all.

Tarvaris Jackson
Either Borwns QB Quinn or DA
Jamarcus Russell
Trent Edwards
Shaun Hill
Any Tampa QB
Chad Pennington(last year was a fluke)
Jake delhomme
David Garrard
Kerry Collins
Any Lions QB
Would start over Sanchez at this time
any seahawks QB
Kyle Orton
Tyler Thigpen (cassell yet to be determined)

True enough. I always enjoy the discussion though. I'm not Vick is the worst person or player ever or anything like that. I just get tired of athletes and celebrities getting preferential treatment.

It looks like you got me on your list as well. While I do not agree on all of them, Vick would be a much better option than the overwhelming majority of those you listed.

He deserves to play again. I do love dogs, but Vick faced his punishment. Plus, as various others have pointed out, there are players who have committed much worse crimes who have been given less grief than Vick about playing again.

Let him play - if a team wants him to play, of course.
