I am still in Scottsdale and have 5 more spring training games to go to.
First game on Saturday -
Giants vs. A's in Phoenix
Really good offensive game for the A's and a good pitching performance for Dallas Braden. I was amazed with how big Landon Powell is. Giambi and Landon Powell hit balls out. Joe Martinez was pitching for the Giants, and he was really overmatched. James Simmons came in and threw 2 innings in relief, and his delivery was impressive in how smooth it was. I got to watch Sean Doolittle play also. Dallas Braden was really impressive.
Second game on Sunday -
A's vs. Angels at Tempe Diablo
Another outstanding offensive and defensive game for the A's. Brett Anderson was outstanding and got the win. Nomar Garciaparra played, and he looked fit and strong. He had some good hits. Sean Doolittle played and hit a hard single.
Third game on Monday -
Dodgers vs. A's in Phoenix
Cahill had a great 1st inning but then had a bad inning in the second inning allowing 4 runs to score. Pennington got the start at SS and had a so so game. Travis Buck hit a bomb to deep center field. Henry Rodriguez threw hard but also had some hard hits off of him. He got out of the inning easily though. Jared Lansford had a tough start to his inning but got out of it.
Highlights of Spring Training:
I got a ball autographed by Fergie Jenkins who was signing autographs for charity. George Foster was also autographing. So far, in person autos, I got a ball autographed so far from Travis Buck and Justin Duchsherer. I talked to Andrew Bailey today. Andrew Bailey has been solid this spring.
Justin Duchsherer is a big goofball. I got a picture of him putting his finger under his nose (he had a moustache tattoo on his finger) and posing for us. I will upload all my pics after I get back on Friday.
