I'm sitting here at work and get notified that I have a package. I totally forget that I submitted a redemption for a Reggie Jackson ball from the Historic Autographs 5 Boroughs product. I get the package and here it is:

It's my first autographed baseball which is kind of cool but I was pretty surprised that they just shipped the ball with no felt bag or even ball cube. After turning the ball over, there's no PSA/DNA authentication which kind of sucks. I'd figure that if you win any autographed memorabilia then it would be at least JSA or PSA/DNA. I'll probably grab a ball cube at the LCS later and leave this on my desk at work. Still bummed about the lack of authentication though.

Congratulations on the baseball.

The lack of authentication would bother me much, much more than the fact that the presentation is lacking.

I'd think it was safer the way it was shipped to you. A ball in a cube can bounce around and get scuffed. I'd have no issue with receiving it like that.

If this is true for all the redemptions then its total BS from Historic Autographs. I have been buying their products because I liked that they were certified/psa autos (balls, hof plaques or cut autos). This product 5 Boroughs had psa authentic cut autos of players from the Dodgers, Giants, Yankees & Mets. These redemptions are not extra autos in the box but take the place of a certified cut auto. In the 15 packs I bought I pulled 4 redemptions - a Leyritz auto ball, 2 Brosius auto balls and a 16 x 20 Mantle photo with 20 common Yankee autos on it including what looks like Ken Clay, Fritz Peterson, Mickey Rivers, Shane Spencer + others I can't identify from the redemption. Now if these come uncertified it's gonna cost me $25-30 for each ball and $75-100 for the photo. REALLY ?? Thanks Historic Autographs...I emailed them inquiring about these redemptions and so far no response. Im sorry for the long rant but this really pissed me off

I have bought over 40 of their autographed Hall of fame balls. They are shipped in a cube with a psa certificate of authenticity and grades. NONE of them were damaged in shipping

Ok. Doesn't mean it won't happen.

I also received my redemption for a Wilson/Buckner auto ball.It was shipped very fast and did ship in a sandwich bag,Rawlings box and then cardboard box.I was surprised that it was not authenticated like most of their other auto ball products.I am not too worried as it does look authentic and it is for my PC.However it would have been nice if it was graded in a PSA holder.
