Is there a card or cards that you hoard? Know another member or someone who hoards a card? Share pictures, stories, etc.!
For me, I never really have been a fan of hoarding any particular Albert Belle cards because I always think about putting that $ towards the next card I do need for Albert Belle but...
I am guilty of one particular card for Albert Belle and two semi-hoard situations I guess...
2001 Sweet Spot Albert Belle - 23 copies and counting! It's just my favorite card of his and I just love how it's an auto on a baseball, etc. It's also cool to see how different each is; some are bold and others are more faded and there are even different colors of pens in some cases, which I think is interesting. I guess it helps the average price paid for these are under $10 a copy and a lot of them are $5 or less.
Next are two semi-hoards for me...
2000 Upper Deck MVP Game Used Souvenir - Only 6 copies but they don't come up much. It's the only creative game used card for Albert Belle, so just have always picked them up if I see them. Another favorite from his playing days and average price paid is sub-$10 and probably more like $5 each
2001 SP Authentic Chirography Gold /88 - 8 copies and these also don't come up much. It's another card from his playing days and it's just my favorite auto and on card auto of his and I love how it's hand numbered. I do know another Albert Belle collector how hoards these (think he has like a dozen) and that makes it more difficult to pick up if they come up. Average price paid on these bad boys is sub-$20 and probably more like sub-$15, which I think is great.
Goes without saying but if anyone has any of these three cards, I'm interested in hearing from you
