Bruins looked like the Bruins of two months ago tonight. Much better. Way more physical. Boychuk is a beast.

Good comeback by the Caps tonight.

However, this is overshadowed by another story.

Bob McKenzie ? @TSNBobMcKenzie
WSH's Mike Green will have a disciplinary hearing with Brendan Shanahan Friday for his hit on TB's Brett Connolly Thursday night.

Flames 1st round pick from last season is getting called up from Juniors (33G,94P,44 Games) on an emergency call up basis. He must return to Portland when the first F is available off injury.

Does anyone know what this does for his RC status? Strictly cards, I know 20 games is the threshold, and he'll probably only be up for 1-3 games.
Is there a minimum number of games for a Young Guns for example? I know Couture was called up late season but had a series 2 young gun released for some strange reason.

To be eligible for an RC you have to have played in a game. That's it. Doesn't matter how many. With that, UD has already released the Series 2 YG's, so it's unlikely he'll have one. Hopefully for your sake, both companies will hold off on using him in any sets and save him for next year (though there could be a cut off to where a player can't have a card in that year based on timing of their debut.)

the Pens beat the Panthers 2-1 in the shootout.

Steve Sullivan scored for the Pens in regulation. James Neal and Evgeni Malkin scored for the Pens in the SO.

Sidney Crosby may play Sunday when the Pens host the Bruins at 12:30. the game is on NBC in the US.

Mike Green was suspended 3 games for his hit on Connolly. Connolly even admitted after the game last night that he was in a vulnerable position and that it was a "hockey hit", and he wasn't hurt at all. WHEN THE PLAYER THAT GOT HIT SAID THE PLAYER THAT HIT HIM DID NO WRONGDOING, IT SHOULD BE OVER AND DONE WITH. God. This league is atrocious at times.

Game is going downhill so fast now. All trying to cater to pink hats and media who aren't real fans. Almost hope they take hitting/ fighting out of game and see half full boring games all the time. What NHL wants it seems. Just robot boring players.

Penguins vs Bruins 12:30 NBC

the Pens have won 8 games in a row and are 20-5 in their last 25 games. Sidney Crosby will not return to the lineup today.

EDIT

the Pens lead 3-0 after the 1st Period.

Marty Turco is making his first appearance since March 17, 2011. he is replacing Thomas at the start of the 2nd Period.

Penguins win 5-2 and have now won 9 straight games.

Calgary Hitmen Goalies Brandon Glover and Chris Driedger got new goalie masks a few days ago....

Chris's new mask is on the left (my personal fav) and Brandons is on the right (That is Calgary country music singer Paul Brandt, on Brandons mask. I went to High School with Paul Brandt). There is a Bull Rider on the other side of Brandons mask in honor of the Calgary Stampede.

Calgary beats the Wild 4-3 to stay in the playoff hunt and Calgary's Top Prospect Sven Baertschi, who was called up from the WHL's Portland Winterhawks on an emergency basis scores his first NHL goal in his 2nd game.

Flames stay in 8th based on their record although 3 teams have 76 points.
Great goal for Baertschi.
Glencross' 7th goal in 7 straight games is the highest such streak this season in the NHL.

Bucco you know anything about these Lemieux rookies? I never even knew they existed? saw some posted them on another site. Maybe TBP knows, what is PSA pop on them and what have they sold for.

there were 4 cards on the bottom of each 1985-86 Topps box. these were most likely cut using a paper cutter. I have no idea on the PSA pop report. there are some ungraded copies on eBay that haven't sold for much but I don't seeing any graded copies.

they are pretty cool and I really like the yellow border.

Dave, the pop report is now free on PSAs website.

i do believe those are the only PSA 9s of that card though. One guy owns all three and is a master submitter of box-bottoms. i do not believe they are for sale or ever will be. the same guy bought the last 87/88 Topps case from steve just for the box bottoms

Sidney Crosby will return to the Penguins lineup Thursday night when the Pens play the Rangers at MSG.

hopefully Sid can stay healthy this time. the Pens need a healthy Crosby if they want to go deep in the Playoffs.
