A shutout, a shootout, and the defending Stanley Cup Champs losing on their home ice....

Gonna be a great season.

So I completely missed the first night of hockey because I was busy being passed out all night from sheer exhaustion. Lame. Guess I'll have to try to catch a game tonight after finishing studying.

I am excited for another year of Blue Jackets hockey. I was unable to watch last night's game but they have looked very solid in preseason and I am hoping they can sneak into the playoffs with a 6-8 seed.

I am excited for another year of Blue Jackets hockey. I was unable to watch last night's game but they have looked very solid in preseason and I am hoping they can sneak into the playoffs with a 6-8 seed.

I definitely think the Jackets will make the Playoffs this season. the addition of Jeff Carter alone should give them a big enough boost to get in. I am hoping Rick Nash has a HUGE season playing with Carter.

Blackhawks - Stars round 2 tonight. Stars won 2-1 last night, and Jaime Benn smashed Hjalmarsson through the glass last night. I know stu was enjoying that.

I remember seeing him play in the AHL when I had Lowell Lock Monsters' season tickets, and I never thought I'd hear "Martin St. Louis" and "300 career goals" in the same sentence. Congrats to the little guy (always gotta root for the little guys).

I went to the Wild game tonight against the Blue Jackets. Glad I did. They ended up winning 4-2 and were up 1-0 on the Blue Jackets a 1:10 into the game.

Took advantage of the same student discount for tonight's game that I did for the Edmonton game I'm going to next week. Sat in a section over (126) than where we'll be sitting on Thursday (101) but the seats were still amazing for $35 a piece and it was the season/home opener. Can't beat an awesome game, sweet seats, and a win for $35. :mrgreen:

after a 15 year absence from the NHL the Winnipeg Jets will take to the ice tonight when they host the Montreal Canadiens at 5 PM EDT. the game will air on the NHL Network in the US and CBC and RDS in Canada.

the Penguins lost 2-1 in the Shootout to the Oilers.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored his first career goal late in the 3rd Period and the Oilers killed a Major Penalty through the end of the 3rd and the first 20 some seconds of OT. Taylor Hall looked great every time he touched the ice.
