Alright...Now that we know who is in, what cap does Blyleven and Almomar wear?

Blyleven - Twins?
Alomar - Toronto? Isn't he the first Blue Jay in the Hall?

Bert is almost assured to wear a Twins cap. He started with them, won a World Series with them, and is one of their TV commentators when not getting suspended for dropping f-bombs during a Yankees series.

Indians for Alomar.
You think? He played only 3 seasons in Cleveland. No rings but tons of memories of him and Vizquel turning the double play.
5 years in Toronto with 2 rings.

You're probably right. But my vote would go for the Orioles, White Sox or Rays. Oh the memories!

I'm kidding, it'll be the Jays I am sure.

Even though Alomar had two stints with the White Sox, I know that he won't be wearing a Sox hat  . His short stints there were less than admirable, but it was at the end of his career.

What about Palmeiro's paltry 11 percent? What does that say about Clemens' and Bonds' chances (let alone Sosa's) when both go on the ballot in 2013?

Congrats to Bert Blyleven for having a great 2010 season and finally doing enough to make the Baseball Hall of Fame

Exactly. It bothers me that he's not a HOFer for 14 years, but then, magically, is good enough. And even as a Sox fan, I felt the same about Rice. You are or you aren't, and it doesn't change over time. And hopefully that would stop people from keeping guys like Alomar off their ballot for a year to send some sort of BS message. He's clearly deserving, so grow up, put him in, and move on. These baseball writers are trying to make themselves so much more important than they actually are.

So out of a record number of ballots (581) sent back to be counted, and 436 being the enshrinement cutoff, five ballots were left blank!

Congrats to both by the way.

Larkin was 3rd in the voting with 361 votes(62.1%). Looks like he has an excellent chance to get in the next few years.

Larkin gets in next year, maybe as the only one. A week crop coming, making way for some big names the following year.

Next year will be his last shot for a few years. None of next years first time eligibles will get in:

Edgardo Alfonzo
Pedro Astacio
David Bell
Jeromy Burnitz
Vinny Castilla
Scott Erickson
Carl Everett
Jeff Fassero
Alex S. Gonzalez
Danny Graves
Rick Helling
Dustin Hermanson
Jose Hernandez
Brian Jordan
Matt Lawton
Javy Lopez
Bill Mueller
Terry Mulholland
Jeff Nelson
Phil Nevin
Brad Radke
Joe Randa
Tim Salmon
Ruben Sierra
Jose Vizcaino
Bernie Williams
Eric Young

2013 will have, among others,....
Bonds
Clemens
Biggio - gets in
Schilling - will get more votes than the rest on this list, but will miss
Sosa
Piazza
Lofton

2014 is going to be all about Maddux, Glavine and Frank Thomas

2015 has Randy Johnson, Smoltz and Pedro

2016 Griffey

I know it's no longer the player's call but Alomar has repeatedly said if it were up to him he'd go in as a Jay.

And yes, he'll be the first. A couple of former Jays are in (Molitor, Winfield, Niekro etc) but obviously weren't inducted as Jays.

I'm surprised by Bagwell's vote total, as I thought it would have been a lot higher. While I don't want to insult those that are fans of Juan Gone, I'm surprised he got even 5%.

So Blyleven wasn't good enough the first 10 years, but now is? HOF is a farce! Congrats to Alomar who should have been first ballot, as should all real HOFers!

What a crock!! While I acknowledge that I am a big fan of Juan. He is one of the best players of his era. Period. He deserved waaaaayyyyy more votes. The writers are egomaniacal wimps about the steroids era players.

Palmeiro should be in, so should McGwire, Bonds and Sosa. Anyone who says otherwise is just silly.

Either you let 'em all in or no players from 1990 - 2005 should be let in including pitchers because it is impossible to tell the clean players from the not so clean players.

I agree with this to an extent. I could see it taking a few years depending on the class but if it takes 14 years then you are not a hall of famer. To me just saying someones name you think Hall of Famer or not. Thats why i dont see how it can take a decade or more to put a guy in.I also think it was a joke Bags didnt get in. Blyleven getting in basically says guys like Jim Kaat are HOF material. I mean come on dont vote guys in just to have a guy to go in. Alomar is a sure fire guy and im glad hes in, but if a guy is borderline he's not a Hall of Famer.

Bonds is head and shoulders above those guys and its not even close. Bonds was the most dominate player arguably ever. If the steroid issue never came up he would be a top 5 all time guy. Any of the other steroid guys even in that discussion?

I don't think it matters. Bagwell, Mcgwire, Clemens or anyone suspected of juicing will not be voted in. I know i might be in the minority but i agree with that way of thinking, they will be left out.
Edit - I guess i am silly like that, there is so much debate as to the Hall being watered down, i think the voters would prefer that over it being tainted. I think Shoeless should be in over Palmeiro, Mac, Bonds or Sosa. Hell even Rose i can deal with betting as a manager over roiding.

I agree with you that they will atleast be kept out for awhile but i think after a few years Bonds gets in then you really cant keep them out. Bonds had a HOF carrer before steroids and i think he is the only one (maybe clemens) that can say that.
