HOF auto #189

[Mighty Bombjack]

It has been a while since I made a pickup for my HOF auto collection (largely because it's getting expensive and takes me longer to save up enough money!). There have been some nice HOF cards and autos being shown on the boards lately, which I love, so I'm happy to show off this check from the Yankees made out to and endorsed by Tony Lazzeri (Deceased 1946, HOF 1991). Some of you may know how tough his auto is, so I was glad to add this one for 600 bucks. His auto is strong, but is definitely weakened by the bank's punch holes. That doesn't bother me too much, though.

Lazzeri, for those who don't follow the history of this great game, was a fantastic second baseman for the all-time great Yankees teams of the late 20's and 30's. This check was for him to make it to Spring Training, and was cashed at the hotel in Florida where the Yanks were training.

I'm hoping to add #190 tomorrow, but we will see.
