I tell everyone to bust, since I could hold it until about 2AM that nite.

BTW, didn't 07 have some MONSTER box-toppers?

Good luck either way!

I would have to say bust now. If some one gets hot then list if not hold what you pulled till then or prices get better...

One obstacle for me is knowing that just about all of the better Red Refractors have been pulled already.

I believe Arencibia might be the only one who hasn't surfaced, to my knowledge. Are there any others of the more recognizable names?

Bust it around spring training next year and list everything.

Price will be starting the season out in the rotation.
Vitters might be real high on some prospect list and may get a little bit of spring training PT.
Heyward will be healthy.
Maybe Snider will be back in the bigs.
Poreda will have a year under his belt.
LaPorta might be trying to make the team out of ST.
Bumgarner might being going for a spot in the giants rotation.
Not a bad idea.

I do not re-call seeing the alderson or bumgarner red, has anyone before?

I wouldn't have the discipline to hold, but if you do and you're looking at this strictly from a prospecting venture then hold it. It only takes one player from that class to become a star before the chase begins. If Heyward or Laporta, or Bumgarner becomes the next Longoria, Lincecum, or Upton then you probably double your money because every box will have that star in it for potential buyers.

What I would probably do if I had that discipline would be to sell one half of the box once the prices got around $1400 or $1500 and bust the other half for $500.

As you've said, with so many of the red refractors having surfaced the odds of a pull that will pay for 1/3 to 1/4 of the case is slim to none. I do recall having seen the Arrencibia on the old BMB if that helps.

Split the case.

Open one four box case and hope you flipped the right coin.

It's the best of both worlds.

Who had it?

I wish I could remember, I know you'd probably love to have it. I just distinctly remember the image of the card and commenting on how nice it looked.

Has the Bowman Sterling Red tracking thread been purged from the history of those boards? I could have sworn it was posted in there.

That's interesting because I know I've never seen it before. Huh.

Yea, though I'll never own it, it is my most desired card. I just want to look at it, lol.

I feel like the buzz around this set has gone down, and it's undeserving. First official autos of Heyward, Price, Bumgarner, Vitters, JP, LaPorta, and Snider. Plus there are Lincecum, Alderson, Joba and Longoria autos in the set. I think you should bust it. This way if a huge craze happens around any of those guys, you have the cards ready to sell. You can even have them graded in the mean time.

I've seen the Longoria patch/Auto card sell for decent money and its not even one of the highly sought after cards in the set. His cards are still selling well and if he enters the Home Run derby and does well, it could be like Hamilton last year. i would bust it, sell anything currently hot, sit on the studs in the waiting.
