Figured I would try to spread a little cheer this season. I have a Mike Stanton auto incoming with a big lot of cards I won and I have no use for it. Maybe it will fit into someone else's collection better than mine.

Take a look through Burbank Sportscards' inventory on ebay.

http://stores.ebay.com/Burbank-Sportscards

Try to find a card that actually seems like a nice buy, whether the card itself is undervalued or you think they somehow actually have a competitive price. Contest ends sometime between now and Christmas. Most likely I will just choose a winner through random.org, but I will be spot checking entries to make sure you're not just picking a random card out of their inventory. Please list a link to the card, a brief description, and why you think it is a good buy.

I'll start:

[ebay:1g3yhtew]140477592204[/ebay:1g3yhtew]

1996 Leaf Signature Autographs Gold Julio Franco for $15.65 delivered.

Julio Franco is a living legend who gets absolutely zero hobby love. He only has a couple certified auto cards, and he is one of those guys that WAS the sport of baseball for people my age, just maybe not a superstar. Guys like Andy Van Slyke, Mike Greenwell, Jeff Conine, and BJ Surhoff. He played until he was 68 years old and his hip fell out of the socket when he was rounding third base, for Pete's sake. One of the bronze versions of this card didn't sell recently for a 69 cent opening bid with reasonable shipping. I just picked one up on COMC for under 3 bucks. Do you know anyone between the ages of 25 and 40 who wouldn't want a Julio Franco auto in their collection?

Those are different cards. The higher priced one is die cut and graded a BGS 9. Here's a complete set of 40 holoviews that went for $20.50 delivered, so $8.10 for the Montana doesn't seem like a bargain.

this is a great 90s insert set, and he's the greatest running back i've ever seen... his stock will never drop. i also like shiny things, and enjoy the fact that this looks kind of like a pokemon card. the last one i saw end was within $10 of this, so its really not a bad deal at all for the rarity of the card

Jason Terry 1999 Press Pass Auto - $5.48

Terry's not exactly a scrub. He's been in the league 10+ years with a scoring average of 16 points per game. He was also 6th Man of the Year as recently as 2008-09. The cheapest Terry autos are only a $1 or $2 off this price, but $5 isn't going to break the bank. Some of his other Press Pass autos are listed at much higher prices.

Thanks!

Bumping this up for a few more entries. Those folks who have originally replied will get three entries apiece for their efforts in the initial contest. For entries after this point, post the MOST RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED item that you know of that is in Burbank's inventory.

Link, description, and price would be nice.

I'd have to go with this one for most overpriced. The base auto'd version of this card goes for under $50. And this Chipper 1/1 which I think is a much more desirable card went for less than half the price:

I think if the Chipper 1/1 went up for auction it would get less than $250. So Its overpriced by at least $1000

Re: Holiday Contest for a Mike Stanton auto - Edited rules P. 2

I guess it will work like this -

overpriced items get you one entry

underpriced items get you three entries.

Contest will close at midnight ET, Monday Dec 20th.
