It's such a good thing that I don't have large amounts of money becasue i would bid on pretty much everything. I can't get over some of that stuff. WOW

"Williams is widely regarded as the greatest batsman in Major League history..."

Pushing it a little here though.

I dont think that is much of a push. There is no doubt he was one of the best...at least in the top five and may be the best of all time. Its hard to compare Williams to Cobb and Jackson etc but for his era I believe he was the best.

The people who I regard as the greatest batsmen point to him as THE greatest bastman.

.......clearly in the conversation with Ruth, Hornsby, Cobb and Gehrig. Cobb top average by far but nowhere the power as the other 4. If Ted does not miss four years+ for military service in the prime of his career he is without a doubt the greatest hitter of all-time. Nevertheless, he is in the conversation.

The only thing bad about this was I told one of my employees that Ted Williams stuff was being auctioned and he said "Who is Ted Williams?"

I live in Massachusetts, he's a 22 year old male. How the f does that happen?!?!

I'd be less offended if he was one of those whipper-snappers who can't name the President of the United States!

Man that Padres hall of fame plaque has my name all over it. Wonder how close it goes to the estimate?

....for one-of-a-kind items like that it really would be hard to figure out an ending price. That is a very cool plaque, especially for anyone with San Diego ties or interest.

Good luck!!

Yea, definitely don't have $2k to spend on the hobby but I'm wondering if it would be worth it to sell some of my nicer cards to help fund it. Wonder if it would ever go lower than the estimate? No one cares about the Padres, right?
