braves have added three quality starters but still dont have a number 1.

mets have a much improved bullpen with putz and krod.

the marlins have alot of talent but got rid of some key players

nationals have added alot, but not to many bigger players

the phillies have a championship and added depth to the offense

who do you think has the best chance of winning the division?

I don't know who has the best chance of winning, but I'd guess the Phillies, However, K-Rod is not even close to being the best closer in the game.

Right now, I say the Mets. Their bullpen was horrible last season. It will be close to the best this year. If the Braves add a nice bat, I'd go with them. Until then, I see the division

Mets
Phillies
Braves
Marlins
Nationals

i only say best because of his record setting season. there are 3 or 4 i would rather have on my team

Mets - bullpen blew 18 saves in the August and September - even though Krod is not the best closer he is exponentially better than Heilman, Schoenweis and the other clowns they had closing. Putz might be even better than Krod when healthy.

Of course im going to say the Mets but with one more big pickup(outfielder) it wont even be close. The Nats will be very surprising, the braves will fight for .500 and the phillies will put up a fight but fall short.

I can think of even more than that:

Rivera
Papelbon
Nathan
Lidge
Valverde
Cordero
Soria
Jenks

His season was a fluke from being on an above-average team in a below-average division. I honestly think the Angels would have been the third or fourth place team in the AL East last season. He had statistically one of the worst seasons of his career, and his velocity was down. I agree with Wesman, that when healthy, Putz is better than K-Rod.

im one of the biggest braves fans on the boards, but i dont know if they will win. though with one big bat like a jermaine dye (who used to be a brave) or someone like that, the braves should be fine

Very close between braves, mets and phillies.

Right now I have to go with mets, if phillies can get another all star pitcher i'd go with them.

Lets go! Andrew Jones to Queens. Come on Omar! Make the move! - a Yankees fan.

he actually wouldnt be a bad fit in left field there.

I would love him there. Not sure many of the fans would though.

i think in that offense he would be more relaxed and could do better. i think when he got to la there wasnt much offense and he tried to hard. i know la has alot of good young players, but they arent established like dwright and reyes. plus left field may be a better fit for him now

More relaxed in NY - that would be something new!

Braves will be lucky to take 3rd.

I don't know...they get that outfield bat (Abreu?) I think they'll have a good shot. They already have the deepest starting pitching in the division, and hopefully the bullpen can put together a good full season with a little less use at the beginning.

i mean in the lineup, not the city. i do think the mets fans are less harsh than yankees fans
