Theres a Wagner bat barrel Topps Sterling 1/1 fold open on ebay item #290290071438. But a souvenir mini bat for sale of Wagner has what looks like the same exact size and script Wagner name on it item #120361913161, has anyone seen these, reminds me of the Josh Gibson bat problems Topps had, any experts agree??

This probably belongs on the main board...you would get more responses...I don't know enough about it to say one way or another.

The mini bat probably looks similar because it's supposed to. Also, Josh Gibson is on a different level of rarity and I believe Topps was pretty open about the bat. There have been a number Wagner bat cards before. I was confident enough to send the guy a pretty nice offer on the Wagner, but he's not ending early.

Could be...I did an approximation in Photoshop...The mini bat is stated as 16", and I got it to about 1072 pixels wide.

Next, I tried to match up as much of the name plate from the card as I could from the bat, which came up to about 183 pixels wide.

So, 16" = 1072 pixels, which = 67 pixels/inch.

The name plate from the mini bat was about 183 pixels across, or 2.73" wide...The card itself is 3.5" wide, so it would definitely fit.

I'd say that since the barrel probably came off a H&B bat, which also made the mini bat, there's a strong likelihood they used the same die pattern. I don't recall ever seeing a signature that ornate engraved onto a gamer bat, though. But I'm not an expert. The barrel card looks like it says it came from a game-used bat, so I hope they didn't get burned on that.

Gamer bat or mini bat, I think the seller put himself behind by not doing a BIN with a "Best Offer" option.

Those bat barrels from Topps Sterling have done extremely well for the most part.

Louisville Slugger has only one signature branding iron for each player, made using the signature from the player's contract. It's really cool, there is a huge cabinet with tiny slots that holds all of them from throughout the company's history. The brand from the iron would look exactly the same on any size bat model for this reason.

That is brutal, but I don't see anywhere on the card where it says it was a game used bat. I know on GUU site they showed a Jim Edmonds bat card that was clear a retail model. Also, many of the jersey cards with wrong sizes for players on them. Or a jack Youngblood jersey that has 02 year tag. He retired long before that. Or a Craig Morton Super Bowl jersey that Donruss had pictured on the back of the card. Only problem was the jersey was made 5-6 past the SB. List goes own and own on how bogus some of these cards are.

Are you looking everywhere but where it says it's game-used?

I must be blind, Where on the card does it say game used. I see the crap all about his career and that it is bat barrel nameplate on the cover.

Third picture, the text between the "crap" about his career, and the line with the Topps and MLB logo on it. It reads "Contained in this premium card is the nameplate from an authentic game-used bat and pieces of authentic game-used memorabilia".
