At the end of it all, there are three logical explanations...

1. An until now unknown Wagner exists and afro's geographical oddity friend has found the first (and possibly only) copy. VERY DOUBTFUL

2. Afro made up the story fron scratch for attention, enjoyment or whatever else. Both PLAUSIBLE and DOUBTFUL

3. Afro or afro's friend found a card and incorrectly named the player. PLAUSIBLE

Definately a must read thread full of win. I do think Mike may have hit it on the head though. I was wondering myself if maybe a card was found by a non baseball person and just named the wrong star of the era when recollecting the story. It would be sweet if it ended up being a high grade t201 Cobb/Crawford. The pic should be fun and will be very telling. I still wouldn't change anything about this thread though.

Saturday Super Find!

This may not be the "Black Swamp Find" but I hope PSA will print "Growler Dropping Dandy". This morning I let my 9 year old Great Dane Remington out back to take a morning deuce.

As you can see he was straining slightly. After several minutes of agony I decided to don a latex glove and go help him out. I mean the poor guy is 9 and had to endure many years of living with Al Rosen (we rescued him about 5 years ago). After massaging his sphincter for a moment he stood up and walked toward the back door. Against my better judgement I let him in the door. Wouldn't you know it, not 10 seconds later he ran for the kitchen and unloaded a SuperSoaker of diarrhea all over the tile. As I began to boil with anger something caught my eye. Some pieces of white contrasting against the Hershey squirt that laid on the cool tile were drawing me closer. What was it? I leaned over and began salivating at the sight of the bright red. No it wasn't blood in his stool. It was one of the most important cards of the candy era.

Sorry for the bad pic but I was grinning from ear to ear and my wife was yelling at me to clean it up!

I quickly grabbed the gloves again and carefully extracted the hidden beauty from the steaming splatter of waste. I was so delirious that I thought of licking it clean. I got some water, a plastic tub and carefully placed the masterpiece into the tepid liquid. After several minutes of soaking I turned the treasure over and repeated the process.

After several hours of drying and pressure under a stack of T through Z encyclopedia Britannicas I got my first true glimpse at this....

I've posted my fair share of unreal finds over the last few days but I literally laughed out loud when I pulled this yesterday from my Annual lone box of A&G that I always purchase.

Kung Fu Sandoval RIP CARD /25

Just thought it was ironic that I was finding all these great cards inside other things (drywall, dog XXXXe, etc....) and then I get a chance to rip this thing apart and find something worthwhile, or not.

Who says rip it? Is the "find" karma with me? Live video rip?

Currently thinking of the best way to present a video rip. I'm currently rounding up fireworks, a chinchilla, Slim Jims, and Vaseline.

Well, I ripped. I am not as good with video as pictures so after creating an epic video and not realizing how to post it I'll just give you the scan...

I checked the checklists for the T-era foldout sets for Heinie Wagner, thinking maybe a non-fan would see Wagner and assume Honus. He's not in any of those sets, but it was a possibility.
