I know some people have conniptions when it gets mentioned, but there has been a big shakeup in the Magic: The Gathering world recently, causing several cards to spike up to several hundred percent in the last couple weeks, especially during this weekend's Pro Tour tournament. Some of this is due to speculation/market manipulation (it usually doesn't take a lot of money to temporarily buy out the internet of a card, causing prices to spike ridiculously), but also there is a lot of organic interest in certain cards previously dismissed as not very good but that were suddenly discovered to come together in a really strong deck. To put it in baseball terms, what if Albert Pujols had a really hot streak but instead of his 2001 rookie cards, it is his 2010 Bowman Chrome or 2007 Fleer Ultra that were suddenly the hottest cards in the hobby, in turn taking Jered Weaver, CJ Cron, and Mike Scioscia cards along with them?
