I know this goes against the spirit of the Hot List, so maybe it could be an honorable mention: 2011(2?) Topps 5-Star Aaron Rodgers on-card autos. I believe it's his first on-card auto in a Packers uniform (his '05 SPA is in a practice uni)

The Packers have a decent following. I heard Rodgers is doing quite well this year.

How about a cold list too? I remember beckett use to list what players is hot & cold in the market. It make for much more informative read. I would put Ryan Braun on it.

I don't know if you can put him on a hot list simply because only two (2!) cards of his have sold on eBay, but I guarantee nobody expected this Doug Baldwin /10 [ebay:13aw8yxh]120827381358[/ebay:13aw8yxh] to sell for $80 (in all fairness, I'm the person that won that card but when I set my snipe I had no idea it would go for that much). If there was a "don't put this guys stuff in a $.25 bin" he would definitely make that list.

I don't think we can downplay the effect the media has on these lists. The ESPN 30 for 30 series continue to show phenomenal stories and in response, the former players that are highlighted in these tapes are seeing new interest in their cards and memorabilia. A few months ago it was Chris Herren in the film, Unguarded. This week it was former USC and Raider Quarterback Todd Marinovich. Although he didn't have any certified cards his in person stuff got hit like crazy shortly after the film aired the other night.
