A few collectors from Beckett board are meeting up before the show Saturday morning for an hour or 2 and I was wondering if anyone here was going and if they wanted to join us? LMK!

I'll be there, just like every year.

Anyone else think the prices have become all jacked up recently?
A Lance Berkman autograph (I have dozens of certified autos) is selling for $99.
A photo opportunity (shaking his hand and standing next to him for 10 seconds) with Joe Montana is being sold for $175.
An Emmitt Smith inscription (5 words or less mind you) is going to cost $175. Auto or photo opp - $249

What the hell is going on? Who pays these prices?

Where have you gone, Bob Feller? I miss you.

I was surprised that Emmitt was the most expensive by far. It was really interesting just to look at the going rates for each person and see how they compare. It really is out of question for most folks. Is there something similar held in the Dallas area?

Ya I haven't really been around much the last couple years. I can't remember the last time I bought any cards. I sold some stuff when I moved to Colorado but prices sucked so I have been sitting on most everything. Working 70-80 hours a week and trying to find time to play in the mountains makes collecting pretty tough. I moved back to Texas, quit my job and I'm going back to school to get a degree that isn't worthless so hopefully I'll have time to get out my cards and see what has been sitting in boxes the last couple years.

If anyone wants to stock up on a couple mid/high end Pence/Oswalt/Berkman/Bagwell/Bourn cards before they go let me know.

I totally forgot about it. I don't think I can go. My house just flooded, but everything's under control. I have tickets to see Bill Burr sat night, so it'd be Sunday if anything for me. But last time I went, 2 years ago, it seemed barely worth the 3 hour drive. Every show is different, and this is the only show probably of any quality in the near future for me. I dunno, I'll see how the week goes and how bad my insurance company tries to hose me.

If you're a dealer, put up an FCB sign or mezuza or something.

I plan on going Saturday and getting Barry Sanders and Frank Thomas autos. I agree the prices are designed so you don't re-sell your autos online. I get them anyways for my growing in-person auto pc. Sanders will be my first football auto. Unfortunately, I will have no cash on me this time to browse the tables since I have been buying big items on ebay the last couple months. My lcs owner told me the winter TriStar show is always better than the summer one in terms of stuff at the tables. It will be tough not to look, but I will manage :)

Yeah the autograph prices are terrible. $99 for Berkman, who has a bunch of certified auto's available for $10 on eBay

I'll be there. My Wife is taking the girls to a scrapbooking show same day, so I'll have my 3 year old boy! It will be his second show.

Tempted to pay to get his picture taken with Nolan Ryan, since he will one day inherit my Nolan Ryan PSA Registry Collection and Auto'd Jersey!

Probably be there when it opens on Friday and then again on Saturday.

I fly back into Houston Sunday morning; plan to stop by barring any major incidences in schedule or from my house sitter.
