Stop the hate!
It's not hate.

That's a terrible Cobb cut compared to what's available.

Not the best? Maybe.

Terrible? Definitely not, it's his full name on a check that is well kept in tact, and yes there is fading but it isn't bad at all it's clearly visible and it appears to be in ink that will not deteriorate for awhile. Bold Cobb autos go for thousands more than one that has a little bit of fading. It's overall a very nice card by Topps

Presentation does look great. I like that frame. Am I allowed to continue posting variations of:

What was the condition of the original piece from which that autograph was cut? Sigh.

The first one you showed has the holes punched through his entire first name? Also, two of the one's you showed are graded a PSA 9, that's really tough finding high grade autos to make your point.

And if you want some from eBay:

Is that one a great Cobb cut?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-SP-LEGENDA ... _500wt_976

What about this one?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/TY-COBB-SIGNED- ... _500wt_976

Maybe this one is better?

The point is it isn't a perfect PSA 9 cut but it isn't a bad cut, and if you're going to flame Topps for this card then maybe they could have gotten a higher grade Cobb t206 card? But if they got a higher grade t206 card people would complain the t206 is a fake reprint, so what would they have to do for someone not to complain about a card that'll net at least $3500? Get a PSA 9 or 10 auto? Jeez

Those full checks are excellent to me. There's a story there. The cut strips all that away.

This is one of those cards I'd really think about dipping into savings or selling some unmoveables for. The main issue I have is that while the auto isn't really the best it's completely acceptable, IMHO, the T-206 is really pretty bad. If you're going to the trouble, couldn't you at least find one that doesn't have multiple paper-breaking creases across it and some semblance of corners? Something in the PSA 3-4 range at least? It just seems that corners were cut in every way when assembling this thing. Whatever their budget was for it it could've been increased a tiny bit.

For reference:

I remember when this set came out and one of these cards surfaced. I can't recall the player's name, but he was an absolute scrub who played I think in a dozen ML games. The seller wanted $2K and I offered $200, which I think was fair but obviously it wasn't accepted. I wonder how many of these cards have appeared.

Is there a checklist of the booklet cuts? I can't seem to find one.

EDIT: Found one. Impressive CL, even the lesser known players have some history behind them.
