I have a ton of Lou Marson stuff that I now have to get rid of. Marson is a new guy to Indians fans. Do they usually stock up on what they can get or wait until he's more proven?

Check ebay for your answer.

The market can tell you alot, if you look.

I couldn't name a cleveland prospect if you paid me. Been out of the game for a while.

Well, I suppose I could name four.

And yes, if I spent hours, I could find an answer. I was hoping others have had sales, or ARE cleveland prospectors, and could provide more relevant info.

You know you can easily name some Indians prospects, or could find out some. Below are top prospects in their system, and how they sell.

Laporta

Santana
http://cgi.ebay.com/08-Bowman-Sterling- ... 286.c0.m14

Chisenhall
http://cgi.ebay.com/Lonnie-Chisenhall-0 ... 286.c0.m14

Looking at those prices, you have no reason to be HAPPy.

Cleveland prospectors usually horde the top level talent (Matt Laporta and Carlos Santana) but anything even a step below that is not worth much (ie Hector Rondon etc). When I collected Trevor Crowe, he was one of the top prospects in the organization and a top 60 prospect overall in baseball and I was picking his stuff up dirt cheap. Cards seem to explode when the players make the major league roster (ie Crowe sterling cards really picked up this year).
Hope this helps

To answer your question, no, I don't think Cleveland Prospectors go nuts about their prospects. Not to the extent that teams like the Braves, Red Sox, Phillies and Cards do.

If it was a really good prospect, it might be a different.

Thanks. And you've been thanked.

Looks like I'll have to wait until Martinez goes down with an injury...or is traded to the Rays.

I don't know who the last two are. I know LaPorta went to UF, I didn't know who he played for.

I havent opened any product since 07 Draft, about 2 years ago, and I didn't follow the market very well at that time.

You have no clue who Carlos Santana is? wow.

Well, he is a top 25 prospect in the minors and he sells way under what he should, as an Indians prospect.

Selly your stuff now before you become very unHAPPy.

I would say you lost a lot of value by him going from Philly to Cleveland, I think Philly is the better team, has more rabid fans and is a bigger market.

Even Santana, who has been mentioned among the top prospects in baseball for 12 months now only sells marginally for all the hype and love BA has given him.

His sterling auto still only sells for $15 bucks or so.

Maybe the dude has other things to do instead of this. Collecting cards are a hobby, not a job.

Sometimes, it's better to not meddle in things you have no involvement in. No one said it was a job, except for you.

Jeff has enough time to pimp his Phillies here, so he surely has enough time to know about some top players.

Jeff,
Overall I would say that the trade = good for Phillies fans but bad for those who had cards of the youngsters

Based on what I've seen on this board as well as few other boards:
Phils, Rays, Braves and maybe even Cards and Giants = the teams you want prospects from

Plus, Marson blocked by Victor (for now) and Santana (for long time)

Some of the other ex-Phils might get shot (CC) but I think even Donald will be blocked since Jhonny Peralta was moved off SS to give youngster some playing time at SS

Seriously... cant someone get a freaking straight answer from someone around here without having to put up with a crap load of garbage by others??? I mean come on. Put your petty bickering away and be grown ups here.

Geez Jeff and I have butted heads way to many times over the years but crap man...give it up. And this is not just about Jeff. To quote a line from someone else.."cant we all just get along???". Lets all grow up here people.

I was referring to the amount of time that he spends on FCB. I never said prospecting was a job. I never said that in my argument. Sorry if i so called "meddled" in this. I am sure you have not heard of a certain prospect before. You are a little jump yourself sir.

Santana will get the call, if there is to be a call for a catcher.

Maybe for your sake, Marson is on his way to another team
