How do I remove an unwanted auto?

I have an card with several ip autos on it, but was looking to remove a few of the no names. What is best for removing the autos? Thanks

Might be better to just leave them.I have a friend who gets autos like crazy IP but he always ends up wanting to remove a few.I have seen him ruin anything from a ball to a helmet trying to get stuff removed.

Ok, maybe not - I don't think there is a way to really get an auto off a card without damaging the card.

I'm not saying it will work, but ethyl alcohol removes Sharpie marker from things like plastic. If it's a glossy card, a q-tip and alcohol might do the trick. Be careful not to soak the card or get it on the desired autographs though.

I've heard of people using scotch tape to remove ball point pen from baseballs.

In all honesty, I'm not sure how I feel about the practice. From one point, I see nothing wrong with it. From another, it's sort of a form of alteration. If you are removing the sigs to sell the piece, I'd probably disclose it's history.

You have to love this, a guy was nice enough to sign after you asked and now you are removing him cause he is a "no name". Heres an idea don't bother him for an autograph in the first place if you are going to remove it when its not worth as much.

Rubbing alcohol will take it right off, and you can even use erasers to get some signatures off. If it's on a non glossy card like a Bowman Heritage, you're out of luck though. Don't let the haters bring you down.

Thanks for the help. I am not selling the card I am planning to do this to. It is a glossy bowman base where the auto bubbles up and looks terrible. I got it before I realized I had to rub down glossy cards for the sharpie to hold good.

Also if the signature has been there for a while it may be tougher to get off, especially if it's in black. If it's recently signed though it shouldn't be a problem.
