Ask Dan Haren.

Getting 1 run of support in his first 19 IP can result in an 0-3 record. Haren and Santana are prime examples for w/l being overrated. Oswalt has also received an average of 1.2 runs in support during his 6 starts. That's 4 runs in 33 IP. ::facepalm:: And to add insult to injury, he left early yesterday after an hour 1/2 rain delay, and the stros scored 4 runs in his absence.

Yah I was really hoping Oswalt beat Jurrjens so I could stick out my chest to those that said I got the short end of the stick in my Oswalt for Jurrjens/Wells trade in fantasy.

Only time will prove them wrong 8-)

It is called run support, and Dan Haren is getting little to next of nothing.

Now if he could get some run support we may win the CY Young ;)

Oswalt had said several times the poor run support hurts his mindset. He's trying to be perfect instead of just pitching his game. And when everything clicks you get a second half like last year.

This is what killed Justin Verlander during the middle of last year. He went somethin like 11 games in a row giving up no more than 2 runs 9 times (3 the other two times) and only came out of it with 4 or 5 wins because the Tigers were getting shutout every time he pitched.

Frustrating to see one of your favorite players pitch extremely well but then be penalized with a crummy record because their offense can't get the job done.

How?
1) The team bullpen can blown the saves something that Johan had last year.
2) Team can't score any run for U.
3) UER U can have a low era but your team play poor defense and those run don't count against your ERA.

Btw markakis8 your signature is beautiful how do U blend the image background so gray/black to fit the Glowing image of your main foreground. Any site U go to to teach U how to do this?
