So, I've come to realize that paypal shipping is both cheaper and much more convenient, from the sounds of it.

How does it work?

IT IS GREAT!!!

Buy a scale ($25 at walmart).

These are the labels you will want for your bubblemailers
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0317195461

Go to paypal and click the "Print label" button (or something like that).

The addresses will already be on there.

I will never write another address on a bubble mailer again!

Is there a specific type of scale that is recommended? And that is just to weigh the item, right?

Also, is Ebay the only place to get the labels or do they sell it at the PO/elsewhere as well?

Thanks for all your help, by the way! Writing addresses and getting everything ready, along w/ waiting so long at the PO, can become quite the headache!

Sign up for a trial at stamps.com and get a free scale. You can print labels and all that from there also.

scale doesn't matter. It's just to weigh the cards.

Wasn't aware of the free scale, but that would save you $25.

PO doesn't have the labels, and EBay is by far the cheapest.

Depending on what you sell you really don't even need to buy a scale, although it is very helpful. 1 card in a toploader is 2oz and a graded card is 3oz. As long as the scale measures in ounces you are fine. I think I bought mine at the Christmas Tree Shop for like $10.

I once accidently sent 2 BGS cards as 1 ounce or $1.34 including the delivery confirmation. Buyer received it just fine with no postage due. I doubt anyone at the Post Office checks anything. I have been just estimating for almost a year now and not one postage due. Normally 1 card is one ounce and 3 cards are two onuces and 5 ounces are 10 and so forth. I just do a ballpark figure and no complaints thus far.

Hope it helps!

All right, thanks for the help everyone! All your posts have been thanked.

I'm sorry, but I thought of one last question. Does the $ for each shipped package come straight out of your paypal account (when you print the label or something)? And it doesn't matter whether it is sent from home or the PO, right?

Great thread. I too am getting tired or writing labels, etc. and was going to ask how this process works as well.

If I am reading right, you do not have to take these to the PO to get scanned or anything for DC? It just seems a little odd that you can print the label from the site, stick it on the mailer and put it in your mailbox and you are done.

I actually took my mailers to the PO and asked to scan them and they won't even scan them.

So I just put them in the outgoing mail at my work and wave good bye.

Do the free scale through stamps.com. Don't waste your money on labels, print them out on paper and use packing tape to secure them.

Do you just put them in your box after you do this? Do they not need to be scanned at the PO?

That's actually it, if you don't care about getting the package scanned by the PO as received. They will scan it when delivered, but until then there's really no way to prove you actually sent the item.

I haven't had a problem just dropping them in my mailbox, though.

I use the 4x8 000 mailers and one card in a penny sleeve, toploader, team bag with a packing peanut is exactly 1 oz.

If I'm at home I hand them to my mailman or if I have a lot I take them to the post office. If at school I take them to our on campus post office.

Even though your local post office does not scan the package, I find it normally will be scanned at a regional site.

I mail my packages at my local post office (Bemus Point, SW New York) they are transferred to Buffalo then the regional center in Rochester where they are scanned around midnight of the same day. I then have tracking through several points until delivery.

I am getting one-day delivery on the East coast, second-day delivery in the Midwest and 2-3 day delivery on the West coast. I couldn't be happier...

When sending I use a blank, used toploader on the front and back of the card (in a toploader) being shipped and include the peanut and I am still under 2 ounces. This also includes the masking tape to tie all three together with a printed receipt.

REMEMBER THAT THE PACKAGE MUST BE UNDER 13 OUNCES OR YOU HAVE TO PHYSICALLY PRESENT IT TO THE POST OFFICE WORKER. (SINCE 9-11)
