40 home runs as a 21 year old is quite exciting.

Sure he has the potential. I myself do not see it. He swings at too many bad balls and strike outs a LOT. He might be able to get 40 home runs, at the cost of putting up Mark Reynolds numbers. Good but not gonna live up to his HUGE expectations.

Getting back on track I think he's the real deal. Basically he has shown that he is capable of making adjustments at every level so far, I don't see why the Major Leagues would be any different. He's a freak athlete and his power is real. I personally think he can get .250 with 40 homers this year; and looking forward, it's just a matter of time before he gets used to Major League pitching and works closer toward the .280-.300 range. If everything goes as planned, I think he will be able to put up some monster years of .310 and 50 homers once he hits his prime.

And for the record, I own zero of these $100 Bowman Chrome Autos. I do watch a lot of the Marlins though.

Plus, if he hit like he did in September he will have a great season. Pretty decent clutch #s too with a .333 BA w/ 2 outs and RISP (44 PA).

If he doesn't hit 40 this season he will be very close....and it will be because of his home stadium. (7 HRs @ home/15 HRs away last season)


And I will bet against Mark Reynolds #s...160 K's maybe, but not 200.

Thought this was a cool video about the Marlins' new stadium--about 20 seconds through it shows Logan Morrison blasting one into the upper deck in right and then Stanton hitting one out of the stadium to left. Looks like the ball will fly just fine in the new park next year.

I think you've forgotten how good Juan Gonzalez was in his prime. Or Stanton is that awesome. Either way it's good. :lol:

Juan was one of the top-5 hitters in baseball for around 10 years.

I see his Chrome autos selling for $100+... but seriously isnt this a little crazy? yeah he has power potenial but right now people are paying like he's going to be a .300 hitter with 35-40 hrs... not seeing it. I mean if you are buying these at $100 a piece you clearly see some upside.. Whats it going to take for him to make that jump? I think at that price you're paying for an all star already...which isnt the case.
