I agree with Sam. I really think he is going to get injured.
why do you think so?

just a hunch.
i hope you're right.

Wouldn't you want your guy to beat the best on his way to another Cy Young?

Either way, you're a tool.
cool, thanks.

like no one members have hoped something bad would happen to anothe rplayer/rival. i do remember a big hate thread on aj and milton bradley.

and hope was not the right term. I am not hoping or wishing for Doc to get hurt, I just would think it'd be nice.

Roy Halladay i think will have a season like Cliff Lee when he won the cy young. Over 20 wins, with minimal losses (2) and 2.XX era.

Wanting some one to get hurt or thinking it would be nice is the biggest dbag thing you can think in baseball.

ok

also... all the prospectors hoping some MLB players get injured so their prospects have a chance to get the call up and make huge profits are the biggest dbags too

Since Bob Welch somehow got 27 wins in 1990, only 2 pitchers have had 24:

John Smoltz in 1996
Randy Johnson in 2002

Welch is the only pitcher to have more than 24 wins since 1980. With the way the game is played today, I think 24 is pretty much the high water mark for wins in a single season.

Being a prospector, I can assure you that I hope no one gets hurt so that a player gets called up. Seeing someone struggle vs get hurt is completely different. You have turned into quite the ******..It must be the Giants curse.

I don't think I said you or all prospectors at all, as being one and knowing many on the boards, a lot do not wish this. However, I have seen numerous times for hoping/wishes for someone to be injured, and no one has ever called them a ******...and not suer what you are talking about a so called Giants curse.

The man is a beast. He's averaged 233 IP since 2006. I guess the injury debate is justifiable. Plus the Phillies are playoff bound, so it will be interesting to see him pitch possibly several more games. He's one of the best players without a ring.

People get a hunch about a guy going down with injury? Are you kidding?

Roy Halladay is a smart pitcher who locates and mixes pitches and he's done it for years. He's playing for one of the best offenses and defenses in the major leagues so he'll get get the run support and he's durable. 20+ wins, and quickly.

02 big unit type year..

unless of injury as mentioned.. I think those innings could add up, but I dont think more than a 20% injury chance
