Just curious.

I love to get rookie cards signed in person. I go to Spring Training each year for the past 3 years or so to help add to my collection. I also find myself at about 10-20 games (San Diego) each year to get Padres and visiting players. I'd have to say the best addition to my collection this year was David Wright on a broken minor league bat (not his bat, just a generic bat that was broken at a minor league game). Why did I get his autograph on a bat when I collect auto RCs? I didn't have a RC of his when I spotted him. The same thing happened to me with Mike Stanton this year (I tried to trade another guy there for the autograph he got on a RC--I was going to give him my signed bat--no dice). My second biggest addition to my collection was finally meeting Matt Williams in person and getting him to sign a RC for me. Anyway, any other autograph seekers out there. I read these boards all the time, so I know of a few. Just curious to see if there are more.

Thanks,
Anthony

The boys have done lots of TTM and IP. They always enjoy getting mail when they recognize the hand writing. Lol

When you get successes or failures, make sure to post them in the ttm manager to allow others to see what addresses work and which do not. You can get to it at the top of the page through the ttm link.

The system also allows you to note when you sent the item, so that you can easily track how long it took. Makes management of everything just a bit easier.

I send out a lot of TTM cards for autographs and also have started going to Salem to the Carolina League games for IP autos.
I recently went over 5000 baseball autographs, which includes pack pulled and the TTM/IP autos.

It is my favorite thing to do! I love getting Yankees IP autos, my Dad and I go to spring training every year and I can usually add at least one big name each year. Jeter was my best success so far, but recently my Dad and I have befriended Mr Venditte and his son Pat, the switch pitcher in the Yankees farm system. The best part about it is just meeting the people and getting to know them

I'm working on the 1989 Score Football and Traded sets, getting them IP, TTM or however I can get them.

I've never done TTM, but I've gotten some cool IP autographs. I don't like to be too intrusive. I'm sure I could be more successful if I were a bit more aggressive, but it's just not my style. I've gotten:

Ryan Howard
Carlos Santana
Chase Utley
Jimmy Rollins
Madison Bumgarner
Jason Giambi
Justin Upton
Johnny Damon
Mike Moustakas
Phil Hughes
Snoop Dogg

And most recently...

Kevin Farley (Chris Farley's brother)
Norm MacDonald

Not nessecarily is your statement true. If you are nicer to the players/people, they will be willing to sign more for you, and some may chat. I have chatted with many players after they signed something for me.

I do IP like its nobody's business but I have run out of steam. Its getting to be a major toll on me and my finances. I think I have 3-5 items(besides pack pulled or purchased pack pulled cards) that were not IP. I get basketball, football, and baseball. I am pretty selective about what I get signed for space purposes but I do pretty well. Baseball and football I have locked down. Basketball I have locked down except for the home team. Its odd the Rockets don't sign more autos at events.

Some of the best IP autos I have gotten include the following:

Football
Adrian Peterson
Ladanian Tomlinson
Andre Johnson
Donald Driver
Matt Schaub

Baseball
Albert Pujols
Jose Canseco
Jeff Bagwell
Roy Oswalt
Lance Berkman

Basketball
Carlos Boozer
Robert Horry
Clyde Drexler
Calvin Murphy
Stephen Jackson
Deron Williams
O.J. Mayo
Rudy Gay

I have a ton more but these are probably the best guys I have gotten for free. I have pretty much all the astros and Texans players. Plus some of the key current Rockets players. I focus on local guys. Also was lucky enough to get Graham Harrell and Colt McCoy as well.

I do TTM and IPs of MMA and K-1 fighters.

Because I am in Canada I have let up a bit as it can get costly between the staedtlers and return postage $ I send. But I used to meet a lot more fighters when I was training and fighting through my gym and seminars.

I also meet them when they come to Toronto for meet and greets.

Just today (well yesterday actually) I went to meet Wanderlei Silva.

You are so lucky living in Toronto with all the great IP opportunities you get (In all sports). Even pay places like Frozen pond and AJ's have lots of great IP signings.

Yeah I dont really care too much about the other sports. Altough I used to work with a guy who was friends with the owner of Frozen Pond so when Ovechkin came I think his first or second year, I gave my colleague a ITG card and he was able to get it autographed for me.
