How much time does Ebay give you to pay for items?

I think the new minimum is 4 days before you can open a NPB (not sure) but many sellers still believe it's 7 days as it has been for a while... does it basically just depend on the seller?

Also, I bought an item barely 36 hours ago with the seller having nothing in the description as to his payment requirements and he sends me this: I require quick payment on all purchases. If 48 hours passes from the time of purchase without payment, I will be forced to cancel the sale and repost the item. Please submit payment at this time.

How can he cancel the sale without it being a mutual cancellation? And aren't sellers supposed to include these terms in their auction if it's different from the standard? :?

This was discussed recently, in a thread. I suppose you're right, that the time-frame is still believed to be 11 days - including me. Perhaps we should all take a quick stroll through eBay's payment policy?

eBay's policies supersede any special demands, as per the seller's description - it's merely a common-courtesy action, if you follow with their requests.

His payment requirements should be in the description - there's no way you could have known. He can't do anything.

I know you can start the NPB after 3-4 days and then it gives the buyer 4 days to pay or at least contact you and work something out. After those four days you can complete the NPB.

For the seller to be putting stipulations on a sale after it is complete is lame. Things like that need to be in the auction listing and even then, as someone already said, ebay rules trump his rules. Granted, I personally feel payment should be made within three days but that's a matter of opinion.

I do believe I've read that Ebay, believe it or not, will stand by sellers payment requests as far as time goes as long as it stated in the aution. I doubt this one counts though since the seller neglected to mention it.

I have payment required at 4 days on all my auctions/sales and have one guy on day 9 with no contact yet. I won't bother with the NPB until day 12. I did send him a message yesterday asking if he was still interested in the item and of course there was no response to it. This guy has almost 5000 all as a buyer so you know he doesn't give a rat's ass since he can never be left a negative.

I file NPB after 7-days on BIN items.

I will let auctions go 10-days before filing.

Buyer still has like a week to pay after filing so I feel this is more than ample time to pay. Especially considering most people pay within 24 hours now anyways. It takes 10 seconds to checkout and pay for an Ebay item via paypal. No one is too busy for 10 seconds.

You'd think after a seller nicely emails a buyer after 8 days asking a simple question of whether they are still interested in the item would get some type of response.

I would laugh at someone who told me something like that and then take the full allotted time to make my payment just to spite them.
