I have the opertunity to pick this card up. To me it looks clean, no creases and we centered. I understand this isn't a prospect, so please don't answer low just because you don't collect vintage.

is it real?
is it unaltered?

those are the first two questions id ask myself if buying this card.

also, do you know the seller? (so you can get your money back when BVG/PSA/SCG says its altered)

I have dealt with the seller many times before and never had an issue. Given the times before, it wasn't in cards of this value. But I don't see there being an issue with if it is authentic and unaltered. I would definitely ask about that before I pull the trigger though.

My question is why is, at this date, that card not graded? adam1bancroft and i are setting here an both of us without saying anything to each other until after we had our own opinions thought the samething. Something just ain't right. The edges look "too good". I could be wrong but I imagine that it would be a bit small.

Any provenance on the card?

I'm not sure, the seller has an online store that has over 250,000 cards and none of them are graded. They crack alot of newer wax and buy through their site as well. Like I said before, I would contact them before hand to verify any type of return policy if it comes back altered or not authentic.

Nice card.. I have seen more and more vintage come out of storage due to the economy and some of the colelctors needing money..

Not everyone is into buying graded cards.. I knew a guy who a few years ago had every set of Topps since he was a kid and he kept buying a set every year.. His 52 Topps were amazing.. he knew what he had back in the 80's, and that is why he kept buying them.. sort of a retirement plan..

Good luck on the card,
kevin

If it was graded, i may pay for it, but i don't buy ungraded....too many risks of fake, trim, or altered...

That could be a reprint
I would but one of the graded ones that are listed and not that card
Is the Seller mwcards Aka Mike Wheats cards ???
There is one seller that has 11 graded PSA's from 1-4
starting at .99 I would bid on one of those first before
I take a chance on a non graded vintage unless I know the seller very well.
Good Luck if you intend to buy it.

I don't want to sound like everyone else but it is a great card if it's real. Buying ungraded is always a risk even when you know the other party. The front looks like it has some age but the back doesn't look the same, they almost look like different cards. The front upper left corner looks touched and slightly rounded but the corresponding back corner looks pretty sharp. Maybe it is the shadows but it doesn't seem to match to me.

The card looks legit to me. That being said, the bottom edge could have received a slight trim, or it has a factory mis-cut. As for it not being slabbed yet, many old-time vintage collectors don't believe in grading. If I were to put a value on the card, I would say around $285-325, maybe a little higher.

Looks like a reprint, the text on the back is REALLY sharp for a card of that age.Take a chance and ask the seller if your entitled to a refund if it comes back altered, reprint.

I was not implying anything wrong with the guy, I was wonder if it was his card.
And I thought he was one of the good guys.
