How reliable is ACE?

Thats cool, but to be completely honest even less reliable than ace who passes nothing but fakes lately.

Ahh yes like the Jeter In the presence i been seeing. Which is amazing since jeter hasnt done a public signing since long before ace was around. And I am pretty sure Steiner would like to know how ACE got into the contracted players private signings.

I guess steiner didnt want to hologram it at one of their private signings (that they paid millions for with an exclusive contract) so they where like hey ace you got this? Whats even better all the fakes being passed are in the same exact handwriting so either someone inside is playing games, or the person submitting 200 jeter autos dont put up a red flag.

Dont think I was sticking up for ACE, Im not. I am just stating a fact that there are bound to be some legit ones because he sets up at some shows with players signing. And I have seen people go purchase an authentication from him at these shows.

1). I don't search for ACE items the way I do for PSA/DNA or JSA
2). I have no faith in Justin's ability to authenticate autographs
3). Even if I saw an autograph that I was 100% certain was authentic, and it came with an ACE certification, I'd still likely pass.

If I remember correctly, I don't think it was positive. I remember them calling Justin out on some stuff, and he just seemed to kind of disappear from the thread, even though he had been replying to some questions in it earlier on.

I'm thinking of purchasing an autographed item from ebay, and I see it's authenticated by ACE (Autograph Certification Experts). I'm not familiar with the company. Can anyone give me any information on whether or not I should trust them, or are they another ***? Any help is appreciated.

I have seen a TON of ACE pieces (expecially celebrity items) and have bought only a handful ever.
While all 3rd party authenticators render opinions, some opinions are worth MUCH more than others.

Agreed. The amount of bad Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, and entertainment (movie / tv star) signatures they have authenticated is staggering. Even if there were some legit ones in there, the value is ruined by all of the bad ones.

*** certified autographs I tend to walk away from (unless I know they were from the Gutierrez era). ACE certified autographs I tend to run away from.

And its good to know there are collectors who do some research before diving in, so thank you for being diligent. Also know NO 3rd party authenticator is perfect and they all make mistakes, just take your time and the right autograph will find you.

I never dealt with ACE but a dealer that I sold a CC Sabathia Autographed 8x10 at the White Plains Card Show did.

As you guys may already know, I am probably the biggest autograph NYC hounder in these boards.

So just this past weekend, I decided to sell my CC Autograph photo to a dealer at White Plains since I have about six (6) CC autographed items in my collection.

The dealer brought the item to JSA. JSA didnt pass it. So he went to ACE and ACE passed it. Thank you ACE for passing it because either JSA really does not know how CC varies his signature or ACE passes any autographs. All I know is, I did not forge this photo because I obtained it on my own.
