Sucks for Howard personally. I'm not sad for the Phillies franchise though, lol.

I seen a picture the other day that did make me chuckle. Howard was falling down to the ground, and it had the rally squirrel at his feet looking like it tripped him.

I kinda chuckle at those who say how awful Howard has been lately. :?

Yes, he had two playoffs the last coupla years, but there are only a Handful of guys with his numbers the last 5 years.

The injury will probably keep him out most of the year, and that's fine. The pitching, which should all be back, can keep them in contention even with the uneven offense, which is the real problem with this team.

That said, maybe the move forces the Phils to hit for better average and not just rely on the 3 run HR so much. That is Charlie's style, but results in too many weeks with only 12 runs scored, then Boom! a big week of 50 runs, which isn't needed with that pitching.

I say Jettison J-Rol, and make it Polanco and Pence's type team. And the biggest piece would be Utley returning to form as a near-.300 hitter...

Too early to play which contract is the worst - Howard's Phillies contract starting in 2012 or Jason Schmidt's contract that just ended with the Dodgers?

As of this morning, Howard's auto price for the next Philly Show is still $199.

Hardly anybody was paying that when he was the Most Popular Phillie, now?!? :?

Is he really the most popular Phillie? It seems at least to me that Philly fans jumped on Howard the quickest when
he doesn't deliver. Howard's autograph prices have never really been that good, except for the MVP season. I have
contemplated selling some of my Howard's for a long time but when I looked on ebay for the prices that convinced
me to hold on to them.

Howard is the highest profile guy on the team, so when he doesn't deliver it is magnified. Utley and Rollins, two other
home grown talent players, have been way more disappointing than Howard, but Ryan gets the most crap. I guess they
thought he should of kept up his 50+ HR numbers and .305 average his entire career. Howard just isn't that kind of ball player.

Still he is a great guy who does a lot for the game on AND off the field. Plus he doesn't whine like many other players.

Glad you didn't jump off a bridge last week!

Howard is definitely not the highest profile guy on the team, Halladay is.

I don't think that people around here make Ryan Howard out to be a bad guy. I think everyone knows he's a great guy. Many just feel it's completely and utterly ridiculous that someone would be so adamant that Ryan Howard is a better baseball player than Albert Pujols. I've never heard of anyone speak of Ryan Howard as one of the greatest of all time. People say that about Albert Pujols daily.

People like Kevin are the ones making people around here get sick of Ryan Howard. We get it, he's a fan. But there's no reason to not be rational and smart. Ryan Howard isn't a better baseball player than Albert Pujols. Plain and simple.

You do realize that Kevin is just poking at Cards fans to get a rise out them right? Kevin is one of these look at his actions more than his words to get a feeling for what kind of guy he is.

Find anyone who has dealt with him in a trade or buying and selling and they will say he is great guy to deal with.

Also there is plenty of jock sniffing Pujols fans out there that think he is the best that ever played so to me they deserve to be poked at once in a while.

So he purposely trolls, as you just pointed out, and he's still a great guy? You can't be both. Either he's an ass or he's not.

Laughing and poking fun and someone who may have a career ending injury huh? And they say Phillies fans are bad.....

Amaro said today that he'd like Brown to spend all of next season in AAA, as well. Looks like the Phillies know they've got a (relatively) small window and don't want to deal with potential growing pains from 1/8 of the line-up.

The problem with brown is that he has not alot of time to play i the bigs. They threw him in here and there. I think if he played alot more he will shine!

Wow massive blow, this guy is going to be making $25 mil on the bench...although I do feel for him because that is a terrible injury..but still, he signed his deal at a sweet time.

Sam, my villan comment is in reference to the social media outlets in and around the greater Phily area.
