While I agree Edwards had to go I'm guessing the Browns got the short end again. Seems like Mangin is further ruining the Browns to strengthen the Jets. I saw that the Browns got a special teams player and some draft picks. I'm betting the picks are no earlier than the 3rd round and the Jets threw in a 3rd string tackle Mangini loves and thinks has amazing potential.

They got Chansi Stuckey there best Special teams player and 2 picks for Edwards. Good Move. Browns are building for the future at this point. Getting out from under that contract helps. Face it the guy drops more balls then Sweed :). He is not going to standout in NY.

I thought the Browns have been building for the future since Kosar retired?

Edwards has more dropped balls (since 2007) than any other receiver in the NFL. Don't get me wrong, he's capable of big plays, if and when he can catch the damn ball.

I guess that makes Stuckey the number one there? I don't know what to think it means about Mo Mass and Robiske. Stuckey is a slot guy but can do number 2 real well.

Really opens up options for Robiskie and Massaquoi.....two rookies they picked early on in this years draft.

Massaquoi had 148 yards on Sunday so they probably figured the draft picks were too juicy to pass up.

I agree it helps w/ the cap but they would of been better off w/ draft picks than tjan guys that are average on their best days. Edwards has major issues w/ the drops but he was doing a little better this year as compared to last season. IMO the draft day trade and this one could of worked better for the Browns.

I don't think I've seen him play during the regular season yet. Furrey, I believe, is a head of him on the depth chart.

Upgraded receivers without giving up any really valuable pieces..

Just think the Browns wanted a 1st + more in the offseason. Glad his stock fell low and the Jets capitalized.

I am just afraid of the sign-ability after this season considering it is his contract year.

Can also look at it this way: It will pull more people off of Cotchery leaving him open more.

Overall I think it was a good move accompanied with a certain level of risk. It can turn out to be a GREAT trade when the season is over or also turn out as a rental that did not give us much production...we shall see

Braylon will start for the Jets on Monday night.

The third-round pick Cleveland traded for can escalate to a second-round pick if Edwards gets a certain number of receptions, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and the New York Daily News. (It can't move to a fourth-rounder no matter how passes Edwards drops.)

The number of receptions Edwards must catch is reportedly high and unlikely to be achieved, so the most likely return for Edwards is still a third and fifth-round pick, in addition to Chansi Stuckey and Jason Trusnik.
